Free Agent Pass Rushers

Looking at the list... I don't see any "War Daddy's" in the FA list and who could even calculate what
it would take to trade for one off of another team? There are some good DE's listed in the draft and that
IMVHO is the place to go shopping for a War Daddy. It could be that Irving & Collins may both turn out to
be War Daddy's.

We probably will be well served to sign a VFA pass rusher as long as the price is not too high.

Remember this: NE had 24 sacks this year. Can you name their star pass rushers without looking them up and not being a follower. I know none.

So don't sell the farm for a pass rusher. Just try to get one if you can.
I'm not a fan of copying what the Pats do but it's true in this case. We don't need to sell the farm for a pass rusher. Second half vs gb we we're fine.

We just weren't prepared like New England always is.

JPP is going to command around 13-15m per year, in my opinion. I don't think he's a realistic target.

I don't think there's an easy and quick fix to the DE situation, unfortunately. Chances are we're not looking at a drastically improved situation at the position next season.

Wait... what??
I thought he was never going to play football again...

Never gonna get a big contract and/or million millions per year.....

Ok, I'm back.... lol

JPP might be a nice pick up..... but like you said too much $$$.... plus... the 4th of July is coming up..... again!

Nick Perry is probably the best choice IMO, but he'll want big money after posting 12 sacks including playoffs.

If he can play SLB on 1st and 2nd down and DE on passing downs it might justify it.

Could he handle it and would Marinelli even use him like that?
Perry would be a full time DE in the 4-3. He is 6-3, 265. That's ideal RDE size.

He is actually a better run defender than pass rusher. The 11 sacks he had this past year are almost bonus.

He's not so much of an edge pass-rusher as he is a bull rush pass-rusher.

Interesting player, albeit one who has had all sorts of injury concerns since being drafted in the 1st round of the 2012 draft. Sound familiar (Mo?)

Perry missed 10 of 64 regular season games over the past 4 years.

Claiborne missed 32 games in the same time span.

Cowboys will be looking for bargains. I think Mingo could be more their type. He looked good as a rookie in a 4-3 and he fits what Marinelli is looks for at the edge.

Too much money and not a War Daddy IMVHO. Time to draft another War Daddy.
Easier said than done.

I have no idea how much he will get paid. Every year there are a few free agents that sign reasonable deals but we tend to only hear about the mega deals. Green Bay is more likely than other teams to not re-sign their own free agents.

I agree with your comment that it is not at all easy. My take is that even if you pay the big money to an
established player, he may not be a War Daddy and may not play like one once he gets the money.
At least you have 4 years when you draft one to see if you found one before they get the big money.

I don't much like Mingo but the Cowboys were really interested in him when he was coming out of LSU.

It may be just me, but I love Nick Perry. I am bias because I live in Chicago and he seems to always destroy the Bears, but Bears are pretty awful.

But, Perry has the ideal size, ideal skill-set, and last year proved that he can be an elite pass rusher. He's also very good against the run. He's everything you want in a RDE. 11 sacks is nothing to sleep on, this guy is a "war daddy." He would also allow Lawrence to play at LDE (assuming he recovers from his back injury).

The question is if Dallas would be willing to pay top dollar for him. For me, there's just too many question marks at the DE position (Lawrence - will back allow him to play, Gregory - will drugs allow him to play, Tapper - haven't seen him on the field, Mayowa - decent numbers, but still had multiple healthy scratches). IMO, you gotta pay in FA when your draft picks failed, and at the DE spot, Dallas haven't drafted well.

Jason Pierre-Paul - NY would do everything possible to prevent him from going to the Cowboys.

Probably why the Giants cut Cruz, so they can pay his stupid contract demands so the Cowboys don't sign him ahah

Yes, I'm being facetious. Though, I've laughed off stupid stuff before and it came to be.

Mingo? I don't think so. He was going to be cut from the Browns. From what I hear the only reason the Pats made the play to get him is because he was drafted by long time adviser to Belicheat.

The guy has done basically nothing since his rookie year.

I agree with you on all counts.

I think Pierre-Paul is looking to get PAID, as in big money and whatever team that signs him overpaying and regretting it.

And I also don't see any easy fix out there in free agency. They all have warts and question marks and they'll all likely to be out for all they can get.

I'm honestly looking at possible trades more than any of these free agents and I think the most responsible course is to do as much as they can in the draft.

I'm ok with that too.

I believe he ran a 4.64 at his combine and had like 35 reps.

33" arm length as well, but he's had injuries so will he hold up as a full time RDE?

We've been trying to train a war daddy for several years. Tank was supposed to be a war daddy, Gregory was supposed to be a war daddy, Ryan Russell was supposed to be a war daddy, tapper was supposed to be a war daddy ect.

All we got is a bunch of hurt daddies, a high daddy, and a couple of no good daddies
Time to buy a daddy.
