Being a Romo fan does not make you a better Cowboy fan, just as being a fan who does not support Romo does not make a person a bandwagon fan.

Everybody has opinion. There are good fans on both sides of that issue.

This is a very good post. I support Romo because he's the QB for the Dallas Cowboys, my team for almost 40 years. I have my doubts about him and I don't get angry with fans who dislike him because they have their reasons.....

Take the Brady lead and offer 5/65 with more of it guaranteed. That is what older QBs are looking for. You can always re-do it in 2 or 3 if Romo leads us to the SB.

As much as it hurts to say this, but if we got a good 1st and two 2nd round picks for him, I'd do it.

I'd be fine with that, but not so sure Romo's agent would be thrilled.

Romo is 32 and Brady is 35.

They are almost a full contract apart on the career timeline.
This is something Romo may do 3 years from now.

If you combine all of his playoff numbers, it looks very average but, as I said and as you are pointing out here to an extent, if you look at what he has done the past few years, he is absolutely much better then just average.

Over the last 3 post seasons, he is a 59.3% passer, which is not out of this world but more importantly, he is 18 TDs vs 2 INTs. Obviously, last year was outstanding but even in the previous two seasons, he was above a 90 rating. He's really been playing pretty well in the playoffs for the Ravens for about 3 years now.

Flacco has not been that good during the season. You have to get to the playoffs to do well there and it could be argued he did not do that much to help them get there. Certainly his season stats are nowhere near romo's.

Right now Flacco's value is at an all time high so if they were both FA's he would probably get more; especially as he is younger. But not a lot more.

That is true, but I don't see Romo having the desire to keep playing into his late 30's. He has taken a much bigger beating than Brady. Plus he always has a future in golf to worry about.

He claims there's nothing he likes better than the thrill of playing QB.
He also said a few weeks ago that he want to play at least until he's 40.

But we know that could be contract talk...though I've never know him to be much of a BSer.

You're probably right, it was just my impression of the injuries he has suffered and his opportunities after football.

Simply put, it's BS what Romo has to tolerate around here.
Hey, if you can guarantee us that he will play NO pressure games, he's my guy. If not, then we've tolerated him and his losing for 7 years.

Look at the comebacks Romo led this year against New Orleans, Baltimore, New York, Washington, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh...

With any defense and running game, this team could have easily been 12-4.

Romo has LOTS of wins in pressure situations. People just dismiss them.

out of morbid curiosity...on what bases would Romo be highest paid player. I am assuming contract negotiations would include factual evidence not objective opinions.

thats exactly why he would cause him to get that kind of money, GMs and coaches know how good Romo is

It's hard not to admire the guy. Romo has made himself into a Top Ten quarterback despite having no pedigree, a short stature, a weak arm out of college, multiple attempts to annoint other QBs, and absolutely no care in the world from his "GM" about offensive blocking capacity. Nonexistent defenses, matador pass protection, and fart-and-fall-down running games have been Romo's support system on Sunday.

I resemble that remark. :starspin

never mind a comeback against Cleveland, how is he in his career in win or go home games? Fair or not, thats one of the ways QBs are judged. Not on how he has some great comeback against the Browns.

I have little doubt the Cowboys could probably get a first and two seconds, if not more, for Romo right here and now. Teams would drool over the chance to nab him.

So when the seemingly staggering numbers drop for Romo soon - possibly in the 6-year, $100 million range - ...

I am sorry.

I would never give a 32 old QB that kind of a long deal nor do i think Romo would get a contract around 100mills.

And if i could get a 1st (between #5-#8) and 2 2nd round picks for him i would take that without looking back.

To me thats just Off season bla bla ...

I support Tony Romo as QB of the Cowboys...but if we make him the highest paid player in the NFL, we deserve any horrible fate that befalls idiots.

It's one thing to say that some QB desperate team would make him the highest paid player, but that doesn't mean it's not a stupid move. He's not the best anything in the NFL, and I would certainly let him walk before paying him anything close to the top salary.

I can count on one hand the number of times in my life I heard "win or go home game" before that game against Washington.

Just saying.

lol....since when?..... funny to me that on inside the NFL this season P Simms was making fun of this stat saying Romo is the only QB he has ever heard of this stat used on.....I agree , never heard before this season.....

Kind of like the hat on backwards thing.....never heard another player in any sport criticized for it...and still havent, Romo also seems to be the only one whom the general public has a problem with playing golf

That team that overpaid him in 2013, would be looking to get out of that deal at this time in 2014#fact
