If you're so smug and sure of yourself why don't you put your "money" where your mouth is.

Let's make a bet.

If we're better than 8-8 at the conclusion of next season I get to own your avatar and sig from the moment our season ends till draft day. If we're 8-8 or worse you own mine.

How confident are you?
Can we get through the draft and free agency first?

What I've said is, this thing right now looks like an 8-8 to 10-6 team. The defense is noticeably worse right now, and the looming schedule is much tougher.

Let's see what McClay does to address it. Trades, picks, and free agents are still there to be had.

Besides, I really have no interest in your avatar or sig.

When the Free retirement talk came up last week or so, I wanted Dallas to take a shot at Luke Joekel on the right side. Figured around the right talent and OL coach his draft stock would eventually show.

But alas, the Seahawks signed him yesterday. Not sure what the numbers were but...

Edit: one year deal could be worth up to 8mil.

Timely. Right after Leary walks.

Thanks, Doug.

Exactly. Daaaaaaaaaaaamn this isn't good. BUT, I don't blame Doug. He had a helluva career and squeezed every last ounce out of his ability. Made millions and can walk away (literally) without a major issue and enjoy his life. It was time and I DO commend him. I was never as down on him as most were on this board. Well done overall Doug!!!!!

If you still think we're an 8-8 squad after the draft then sure, let's go.

And I left the last guy I whooped off the hook anyway and never cashed in. Just havin a little fun with disagreements during the dead period of the year.

We can not go into next season with Chaz friggin Green as the starting RT. That's a disaster waiting to happen.
Martin can play RD and he will be All Pro there.

We have options.

Collins can play RG until then.

Green call play LG.

That is a tough contract to swallow considering he's coming off a knee injury.

You think we may have options. I think we have options. We all think there are options.

Just watch this staff hand the right tackle job over to Green, just to see if he can do it.

They won't move Collins or especially Martin until disaster strikes, like a body bag game.

Doesn't mean you can't find a player in the draft.

Man the odds of finding a guy you want to trot out there as a starting RT his rookie year are pretty low. Most likely scenario as it stands is they draft a guy who can be getting ready if and when Green gets hurt.

Figured he would sign an incentive based prove it deal. Seattle needs help on their line badly. Wilson takes too many shots. Giving Joekel that deal was a gamble they needed to take I suppose.

If we sign some slob like Austin Pasztor in a panic, I will lose it. He is the OT version of Nolan Carroll.

As unreliable as he is, you bring in a veteran and make him earn it.

If he is as good as people around here say, he will win and the veteran is the swing, which we don't have anyways.

Handing it over to him just because we drafted him is a dumb move.

I absolutely agree. I want Green to win the job and I hope he can stay healthy. But we should definitely sign a vet on a short term deal. I just don't want us to hand the starting job to the vet and it be Doug Free all over again. I want the vet to have to beat out Green.

1. I think it should be Martin that moves to RT...also warrants the big money he is about to get.
2. If not Martin definitely it should be Collins with us needing to only find a guard to fill that spot.
3. If they dont do any of those...then any backup player with the Seahawks or Raiders will soon be on our radar.

Then it comes down to the staff putting their money where there mouth is regarding competition.

They talk about it, but rarely do you see a top shelf battle for a starting job between two nearly equal players.

Every now and again you see it, but our practice of it is inconsistent at best.

Bad news.

All of the Raider OL are under contract. The Seahawks have not re-signed Bradley Sowell yet, so there's that.
