Can we get through the draft and free agency first?
What I've said is, this thing right now looks like an 8-8 to 10-6 team. The defense is noticeably worse right now, and the looming schedule is much tougher.
Let's see what McClay does to address it. Trades, picks, and free agents are still there to be had.
Besides, I really have no interest in your avatar or sig.
It certainly seems we are putting a ton of stock in the progression of our youth. Which is smart when you get it right and plain wreckless if you get it wrong.
I think Dak, Zeke (if its even possible)Collins, Irvin, Brown, Williams and Mayowa all grow this offseason. The only real loses I see are possibly at Safety and if we dont return at least on CB. Also add in losing Free, but he may not be as big of a loss as it appears on the surface as his play was declining. I feel confident Chaz could provide an equal to better level of play, but when Chaz gets hurt who knows about the back up. If Jaylon balls out then I think we are a better team. All of this said I am not mentioning a single free agent or draft pick.
It is unsettling when you go 13-3 and then lose so many contributors but I am trying to keep in mind the guys we lost are not probowl players. Most did well with thier opportunities but I think the next man up can replicate thier level of play. The best player we lost (Leary) has the strongest replacement (Collins.)
