well i'm with you on being anti-Merriman and as for being anti-Young, most Michigan fans i know have a whole lot respect for Young for what he did to them in the Rose Bowl and some have become fans of his

Vinsanity isn't worth the scum on the bottom of Superman's fatastical red boot. That's high quality scum. Most likely from the moon. So he shouldn't feel bad.

What,you dislike good players?

Oh I remember you.

Your the guy that didnt know who Phillips and Castillo are...

Artie Lange;1264843 said:
I strongly doubt it.
As for his supporting cast, have you heard any of them being world beaters?
Randall Godfrey?...old.
Donnie Edwards?...they tried to unload him this year.
Marlon McCree?...better than our safeties.
Terrence Kiel?...see above.
Steve Foley...out fore year.
Quentin Jammer?

They have talent, that I can't deny, but not better than our talent.
It's all on coaching and scheming.
That being said,I have seen that sack machine get to the QB,not just almost getting to it.
That is my point.

smarta5150;1264943 said:
Ummm lets start with...

Shaun Phillips 11.5 Sacks
Luis Castillo 7 Sacks

Funny you leave them off the list.

And oh yah... their D Coord. is 10x better.

Trust me the guy is very humble and one of the nicest guys i have ever met. I've had a couple of chances to talk to him although not since he became a Pro and he will not just take a bit of time to give you an autograph but if he's not busy stay and talk to you for a couple minutes. He is a little cocky when it comes to football but so do all the great ones in every sport

freeney is all speed. if freeney can't beat him man with quickness, he can't beat him at all

Well, all that speed has only gotten him double digit sacks every single year he's been in the league, with the exception of this year. (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/313800)

Look at thise sacks totals, if that's all he can get with just speed then ****, I'll take it !

He's only 26, and for like the 10th straight year, our biggest need is still a pass rusher.

I'd love to bring him in and switch back to the 4-3, and I think there's a good possibility of that happening because I think there's a good possibility of Parcells leaving.

Ware and Freeney at the ends ? That would be insane. I'm sure that would solve the pressure problem we've been having since 97.

Fergy has no problem moving to DT in a 4-3, we can move Spears inside too.

Ayodele goes back to his natural position of 4-3 OLB, James goes to the middle, and we can let Burnett and Carp duke it out for their natural position at 4-3 OLB.

Moving back to the 4-3 would not be nowhere near as difficult as some fans think.

You also forgot about Jamal Williams - the best NT in football. And even Cesaire has seen extensive time and played very well.

But other than that, and having a ILB great in coverage, Merriman's got no more help around him than Ware.

The man in tights might let it slide. Vince is a nice enough fellow and incredibly exciting to watch. He can use the nickname - for now. But noone but noone is > than superman.

Don't confuse intentional omissions with lack of knowledge.
I purposely left those names out so you could see the supporting cast, not the cornerstones of the defense. It's not that difficult to understand.
There are players you build a defense around, then you get them a sidekick or two,and then you give'em supporting players who are not necessarily pro bowlers, but role players, like The Pats did.

Was it difficult to understand this time?
