Says for some odd reason, Jets decided to cut him rather than just wait out a groin injury that is thought to keep him on the shelf for 2 weeks.

Tempting.

He's been fairly productive, including a TD in his last two games...

Any takers?

If Dez was released for his inability to run clean routes then there is 0 Reasons to bring in Pryor. He runs bad routes and only put up good numbers because he played for some of the worst teams. RW effect when your team is always losing and not a threat to win your numbers get inflated. He would be about as good as Hurns or anyone else on the outside this team has.

I think he's worth taking a chance on (assuming he comes back healthy from injury) for a number of reasons of interest to the Cowboys:

His size: 6'4" 228 lbs
His speed: 4.38
Cowboys have a need at receiver; especially given Austin's status (groin injury) and William's status (IR)
He's cheap (was only making $2.0MM/yr)
He's been somewhat productive in the NFL; at least as much as Brice Butler - if not more so.
He provides an emergency option at QB as he ran the read option offense at Ohio St. (the same style offense Dak is running). Even as a WR, he likely has a feel for how to adjust his route running to the defense in this system.

I can imagine seeing him and Brice Butler on opposite sides of the offense with Beasley in the slot. Two big, tall, and fast receivers on the edges, with a speedy slot guy underneath.

Add Gallup & Austin into the mix when healthy (cut Hurns).

I like that scenario a helluva lot more than what we have now.

The Commanders players didn't like him. NYJ is letting him walk in Week 7....not worth the headache for a marginal player.

Dez, Witten, Frederick, Williams, Hanna, Morris, Green, Mcfadden, switzer are all gone or out. That is major change through out the whole offense.

These guys just need to play, and figure out how to make it work. They didn't play much during the preseason, and you could see that at the start of the year. There is no one available that they could bring in that would make them a top offense in the league.

They need to establish their new identity, and distance themselves from the romo era/playstyle. The only way to do that is practice. They can draft a playmaker or two over the next few years.
