That's about right. When I first read what he said, my first reaction was that BP is trying to get him fired up to have a big game. Remember when he had his last big game? The week after Merriman got all that hype for his game against Indy... he doesn't often play with a chip on his shoulder, but he seems to have big games when one's there.

Ware absolutely needs to develop some more moves besides the Speed rush and the Bull rush which I think he does way too much with very little results.

Ware can be very good to great...But he's got to get more moves.

This is all true - Ware is not a dominant player. Unfortuanately many Cowboy fans believe he is, despite an obvious lack of supporting evidence.

Many also believe Spears, Canty and others are dominating players as well.

The truth is that they are all good players, and may eventually reach another level, but for now too many Cowboy fans have put the cart before the horse.

Ware is the player we drafted and I'm glad he's a Dallas Cowboy. The kid has played almost every down since he put on the STAR and that's while Learning a new position. He has played at a level only a blind man would call mediorce.

Is he dominant, maybe not today but who knows about tomorrow, Monday Night, next week a year from now. Only time will tell.

Ware, DeMarcus.......is a Cowboy therefore I concern myself with his play not Merriman, Shawne's.....who is a Charger the last time I looked.

He can afford to be, he only plays 75% of all defensive snaps. He only rushes he passer. Thats like being a really good accountant but you only are called on to add and subtract after all the numbers are found. Ware is asked to cover, read-n-react, spy, and rush the QB. He has a lot more responsibility that he is doing an admirable job in all areas. I am sure he would have Merriman numbers if all he had to do was rush the passer.

No, Julius Peppers is dominant with 8 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

Merriman doesn't even lead the Chargers OLB's in sacks ... let alone tackles or passes defensed. He does not consistently beat OT's for sacks despite often lining up on the left side vs. a teams RT. He has blown a tackle that led directly to a loss. He's had more sacks vs. RB's or coming nearly untouched than anything else.

Ware last season: 8 sacks, 13.5 QB knockdowns, 20.5 QB pressures (total of 42)

Merriman last season: 10 sacks, 23.5 QB knockdowns, 10 QB pressures (total of 43)

The only thing that can be stated at this point ... is he has better stats than Ware 5 games into the 2006 season. Neither of them are "dominant" at this point.
