I see you conveniently missed all the criticism. Maybe we can solve this chasm of disagreement by having a spelling bee with a one paragraph English grammar composition face off.

OK butt i need a year of study, meditationaling and a pell grant to brush up on syntax. would the one paragraph be about the Cowboys, international currency or the 12th century turn to gothic arckitecuture? Make it easy, man.

What are the three most common anatomical variations in the human body? How much blood loss is necessary before performing a cesarean hysterectomy? What length should the intracervical os be to begin to become concerned about premature labor? A pfannenstiel incision dehisces; what concerns cause you to allow healing by secondary intention? Get back to me in 7-8 years.

I'm not even going to put last night on the coaches.

They didn't help or hurt for the most part and with Jason Garrett as your coach with his laughable scheme that is really all you can ask out of him.

If the coaches did not help, then to me, they hurt the team. The inability to make adjustments to counter the opponent's adjustments is a recurring theme. The game plan is initially successful, but when it is not producing the same results as it did in the first half (due to opponents adjustments), they have been absolutely clueless.

We run a hybrid vertical offense like most teams in the NFL since the 70s to answer a post in another frustration thread.

Our offense has scored well as of late and has never been terrible under Garrett. You want 25+ PPG. We've scored 369-467 pts per season under Garrett through 2014. We've scored 160 so far this year and given up 204. That's the reason we are 2-6. The major reasons for that are called Romo and Dez and minor reasons are Hardy, Gregory and all.

We all anticipated a 10-16th ranked defense and a top ten maybe top five offense. We didn't get it although without looking it up the defense has played well. Fading in the 4th quarter is due to (last night) the Philly offense's hurry up system. The rest is partly due to a failure of the offense and the problems of lack of depth and talent in the secondary. This is a hole we've had for awhile and will take more time to cure. So on track to give up 400 points this year doesn't explain the play of the defense entirely given the state of the offense.

All the other problems are magnified because of the problems above. They always need addressing but are not normally regime change worthy.

The only coach I don't have warm fuzzy feelings for is the STs coach. The others haven't changed. And the argument that Romo carried Garrett's water is true. But not in a negative light. All coaches look less when they don't have an elite QB. An elite QB carries the team. Been that way with infrequent exceptions for a long time.

There is not a magic bullet such as firing Garrett which will fix this nightmare. Drafting more talent especially on defense and in particular the secondary is necessary. Keeping up with waning talent, loss of talent, and improving where possible on both sides is equally necessary.

Everyone is frustrated and some have progressed to resentment. Others are outright angry. I can't blame them and they are entitled to their feelings. I'm frustrated.

This season isn't over but each loss carries us further down the road to no playoffs and the window is closing fast. Can we still go? With losses by others and a big time winning streak yeah. It's unlikely with two teams ahead of us but I won't give up hope. It is unrealistic to anticipate an unlikely event though.

If the negative happens then I will do what I've done for 51 years; anticipate a SB next season. What else is there to do? Raging against the dark may help short term depression but doesn't affect anything of import.

Just my 2 cts and in no way meant as an apologetic thread or to change people's minds. Just the facts, Mam.

Frustration leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to the dark side...be weary of those emotions

The day Romo went down I looked at my wife and said seasons over. Romo makes every one better including the coaching staff.
I think he even helps give the defense more confidence. I was hopeful, more so after we signed Cassel but my original thoughts came true.
Luckily for myself I stopped getting mad for more than a few minutes years ago.

I could not agree more and I said the same thing to mine.

ST has been a disaster, it hasn't gotten better some of that's personnel, but since ST personnel are relatively easy to find, I'd agree that that's a problem we should have fixed at this point in the season.

I don't agree that there's a coaching issue overall, though. I think the OC and DCs are strong, and you know I really think the HC is a good coach. That said, this run of losses is getting big enough that it's becoming a thing of it's own. At some point, a losing streak early in the year gets so big that a coach really can't contain it in the locker room. At that point, players start taking things on themselves and, if it goes on long enough, the center doesn't hold. I haven't felt like we've been near that point yet this season, but this week's loss I will say has possibly nudged is in that direction. Losing in Tampa would be bad. And then hypothetically losing that 9th loss, whenever it happens will be another challenge.

I hate it more than most of you guys, maybe, because I firmly believe this is a team that is otherwise very close. I don't buy the coaching excuses and I don't think the personnel is as suspect as some do. The injuries have been one (huge) thing, but I wish I had an explanation for the lack of takeaways. It's really bizarre, and it's just killing us during this stretch here without Romo.

Good points my friend

I agree that a loss to Tampa probably is going to require some action by Jerry and Garrett, maybe announce some benchings or fire an assistant coach.

6 in a row is horrible, but 7 in a row requires changes to be made

Without Dez Bryant, I think the lack of a truely dominant wide receiver to compliment him, is evident.

With Dez, Cole Beasley returned to production.

Another stud running back is also needed.

If we were losing by large margins, were out of every game, and the team had quit then I'd agree a coaching change would be necessary, IMO.

We've been in every game and the only large margin loss was to NE in a game we were in at halftime. Our losses have been to Atl whom we lead by 14 twice, NO who isn't nearly as bad as we thought, Seattle by one, close losses to NYG and Philly and then the loss to NE. None of those are shoddy teams. You can pin a few of those on STs and QB turnovers although the defense finally wore down in several of those.

If you lose close races you don't start over. You put a better engine in and race it a bit better. If you're concerned about total points then you'd better have a very good second engine.
