he wouldn't have been there at 58 anywayWell looks like we're not going to Noah Fant!
If Witten ends up being the #2 receiver, he definitely is going to get much more than 25 snaps per game, plus this definitely will hinder any progress and take away much needed gametime experience from Jarwin, Schultz and Rico. I don't see how this helps the younger TEs.Whether he is correct depends on if he is right about the Cowboys targeting Witten 90 times over the season. If that’s true the Cowboys will take a step back at TE. But if, as is being reported, Witten only plays about 25 snaps a game, then Witten will not be the primary TE, and Carter will be wrong. Witten should not be the starter getting 90 targets, but as the #2 guy in a support role he would likely be an asset.

Swaim is a free agent, plus he's always injured every season. I would rather keep Rico. Rico is still learning but he's taller, faster, stronger and more athletic than Swaim. Rico simply needs more game experience, but with Witten back, that's not going to help Jarwin, Schultz and Rico.I'd dropped Rico like a hot potato. No need for 4 TEs. So we know Witten has a spot. I'd go with Jarwin and Swaim. Maybe Schultz if Swaim can't go. Rico is only good for jump balls and nothing else. No thanks. Experiment terminated.

If you think a guy can wake up and one morning be a different person you are delusional. That is the person he is and has been that way for 15 years.
it’s not enough money to throw us into a salary cap crunch and it’s only one season. I don’t see the ongoing habit of this anyway. If your talking about Lee, his contract is 2-3 years old and he was playing at a high level when he signed it.Two words. Salary cap.
I don't see that it's impossible that he doesn't even make the team by the time the season rolls around.
And again, $3.5 million is excessive for a "role player", but this team has a terrible habit of overpaying them because they're "good guys".
It's a poor practice that needs to stop.
Read my post again. Confused me a little. Not clear.Read my post again. I wasn’t saying #2 receiver, I was saying #2 TE
It appears to me you are. If you don’t think they need Witten that’s fine, but a one year contract somewhat above market value does not create a salary cap problem. You're making excuses.
One after another.
Stop it.
Within the same sentences I specifically said he shouldnt be the starter but would have value as the #2,Confused me a little. Not clear.
