If the Super Bowl is the standard then the NFL is a failure. 32 teams, only 1 "Winner".

I think better wording is, The Super Bowl is the Goal, which for all 32 teams, it should be. The standard is a base line and winning should be a standard.
question is, in Dallas, where is the bar? Seems to get lowered every year.

The superbowl isnt the standard for Dak because the standard is 65 touchdowns no Int's, 6,000 yards passing 800 rushing, 17 wins, mvp then win a superbowl, along with superbowl mvp

he has to do all of that or everything is invalid because thats the standard all cowboys QB have to meet

me personally? its a team game go win a SB idc if you go 8-9 and dak throws 33 ints and we win all our playoff games 5-3 if it lands us a superbowl im with it and will be happy
I wouldn't care if Dak only averaged 100 yards a game if they somehow were able to reach the super bowl. Super bowls are my expectation, and if you aren't striving to reach that goal then get the %$#* off my team.

If the SB isn't the standard then why bother at all? Anything competitive, especially professional sports, is all about the championship. Claiming that a person is "spoiled" for wanting to win championships is gaslighting at its finest as it seeks to avoid accountability.
AMEN!!!!! PREACH IT!

I do not have a bar or lofty expectations. I just let it unfold into what it is.

i have been accused of lowering my standards which isn’t fair. If I am going to have to have higher standards, then I have to change teams.

thats not really what she was sayin. She was saying what are the standards HERE in Dallas really? Is it getting to and winning a SB with Dak? Maybe she didnt word it right. But he knew. I think we all respect Dan Marino and Kelly. But in the end, winning the SB matters or at least, it should. Her point that he glossed over was Jimmy J actually drafted Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft to compete with and maybe replace Aikman in 1990. Jimmy wasnt very pleased with Aikman early. Its a great thing, having competition. God Forbid Dak has competition. Cant have that. The point was, she was saying, Troy wasnt the man til HE WAS. He had to prove it by getting to the SB. After that he was cemented. Until Dak does that, he isnt the man. Just the way it is.
I never got why fans said Jimmy wasn't pleased with Aikman therefore also took Walsh.
Jimmy said when they seen Troy throwing ropes in 30 plus MPH wind, they knew he was their guy.

So if Jimmy was not pleased why did he select Troy, and also Walsh.
Or was it that Jerry selected Troy and told Jimmy that was the pick. Therefore Jerry should get more credit.

I thought it was stupid at the time for them to waste a 1st round pick on Walsh which turned out to be the #1 overall. Jimmy got lucky NO was dumb enough to trade for him.

Depends on who you are, I guess.

For the Coaches, It's probably competing at the highest level possible and getting better as the season goes on, in hopes to compete for a championship.
For most of the players is probably very similar while I'm sure some are more vested in their personal goals and finances, than the teams goals.
For the Owners, I'm sure it's scaled towards different levels year in and year out. They have the luxury of being long term place holders. They can afford to look at seasons as "this isn't going to be our year, so lets be smart in spending and come out in better shape, financially, for next season."
For the fans, It's typically super bowl or bust.........

Sounds like you have reached a point where you accept that this team will never achieve anything more than an occasional playoff appearance. That's why you just 'go with the flow' and "just let it unfold into what it is".

And grooming, looks like he’s auditioning for “The Lost Weekend”.

I do not watch him because he will eat something right before the shoot and be screwing around with pieces of food while trying to talk. What a tool.
I know LOL. I've stopped watching him.

Nothing Mike Fisher said was wrong about the high standard, some of you people read things into something he didn't say.....
if the standard is fair to middling then your right. When might be a appropriate time for we fans to gripe and ask questions? 30,35,40 years? Just sayin.

Yep, I have accepted that and am actually OK with it.

That and I refuse to let a game played by millionaires owned by billionaires have any adverse effect on my life. It is just a game but it wasn’t always that way.

...this morning on his YT channel live. My wife subs to his channel and she simply stated, why isnt the SB the standard and he was triggered in his answers. He lit her up just for stating it. She just wanted to know why the SB isnt the standard for Dak. He obviously didnt like her question. He said basically its asinine and too lofty a standard. I was spittin my coffee out as he went on his rant. It was a bit funny and typical of him I guess. But it goes to show us all what we already knew, Mike is a go along to get along Jerryite. She did mention it had been like 27 years since we been in a SB and he didn't like that very much either. He said so have a bunch of teams. Called her spoiled. Thats all he had was that. My oh my how the bar has been lowered thanks to Jerry and his minions like Mike Fisher. God Bless our team and may we win despite all this. Just wanted to share this with u all.
because the standard is for the team, coaches, and FO together. Its not on the qb alone and its ignorant for a fanbase to blame 1 player or one side of the ball for team loss over 3 decades.. was dak born in 1996?? that why tell your wife or whomever you are backing, im with Mike ...

don't be Myopic , Dak cant run the ball, open holes, control the game without help, the OL been the biggest issue in many of our recent losses, defense before that, and run Romos rein was it on him Murray fumbled? Baily missed 32 fgs and the ref blew the dez catchy. No we can go back to every loss and find the iSSUES with t eh team not rthe QB.. where was the fanbase when Dak played his rookie yar at 13-3 ROTY and had 300 yards and what 3tds in loss the defense couldn't stop rogers?? Dak and zeke did play well and they lost.. TEAM game defense got ran over agnt rams in 18 no run game suspect OL..sure lets blame the QB, 2021 dak goes 12-5 37tds 10INT and has his OL have 11penatys in the playoffs ruined the offensive flow , again no run game..whwee was the run game last year before pollards inury and after,,OL got manhnadled..

anything else, next time HMU I'll give you my cell to call during this show and ill blast anyone claiming this standard should be on our QB

TROY never once carried this team with ES22 and the OL, defense, and coaches many of which were HOFers. same with Roger, Landrys OL and run game were well known that that what makes the offense go,

anything else i can help you with??

Fans will interpret what is said most of them according to their agenda.
A fan calls in that does not like Dak, and ask a question. The answer is Dak is very good, top 10, and the answer is not what they wanted, so the media person is a hack.
A fan calls in that likes Dak, and the media person says no, Dak needs a lot of help, he is not top 10, so they feel that media person is a hack.
A fan calls in and says Dark is top 10, and they agree, so that media person is great.
We all seen it on here way to often as well.

Norm Hitzges was horrible at taking criticism or certain ideas from the fans. Or if you disagreed with him on the air. And would go on a 5 minute rant.
It all comes down to if people agree or not and most the time people will not change their stance.
