I don't give a squat about doing play-by-play I do it for the guys who asked for it. If you don't like me going on and on then tell people to stop quoting me.

Don't get cray cray with me, I was being polite, don't wake the beast bro. Be nice. Take it to pm with these dudes that have you in a tissy

You're dug in and being a KJJ stop already

I'm sorry, am I not supposed to respond when everyone's coming after me. You say something to me, I'll respond. That's what's kept this thing going including your posts to me.
Well, now this is just awkward... because I feel inclined to respond. I personally don't have anything against you, it just seems you came into this thread hoping for pizza and realized too late Fuzz was serving Chinese. But for future reference, anything Fuzz contributes will not be a verbal rerun of what happened, but things that we most likely missed which is significantly more than what we watched. :)

Scalper, thank you! So, you can see Zeke as a viable receiver out of the slot, eventually?

(Not that he would be used there, just that he will have the ability)

Absolutely and that's what Fuzzy was alluding to. Faulk and Tomlinson were MASTERS at coming out of a bacjfield alignment and motioning to the LOS as a WR. Faulk is a complete *** hat on NFLN but that guy was the best receiving RB in the history of the game. Warner was a great QB and a great story when the Rams won the Super Bowl but without Faulk and his versatility the Rams don't even sniff the Super Bowl that year. He created so many mismatch problems for opposing defenses that they spent 4 quarters with their heads spinning. Once they thought they had Faulk figured out, Holt or another target would make them pay. The attention that HAD to be paid to Faulk opened up the ENTIRE field and that is essentially the core of the "Greatest Show on Turf". With Faulk's versatility they were nothing short of unstoppable.

I read it as Dak being a little off in his throws, which is only mentioned because it was out of character. Whatever.

@FuzzyLumpkins

You said you weren't impressed with Zeke's receiving, is this because of a lack of plays, or what you saw when he received said passes? He did have one completion for 15 yds, and seemed to glide through the field. His other reception was for 2 yds, admittedly lackluster.

Do you see him as a Faulk/Tomlinson threat? He has great open field vision that should translate to his receiving game, given his soft hands.

Thoughts?

He's just not a very good route runner right now. Maybe in swing passes or if you can get him lined up against a slower LB. Fuzzy mentioned the break coming out of his routes, basically you need to be sharp in that aspect for timing and to get your body between the ball and the defender. Sloppy breaks can lead to batted down passes, or picked balls, or just incompletions because you were a step behind. I agree with him there. Not many backs come into the league with that skill though.

He could definitely be a Faulk/Tomlinson threat, if he puts in the work. He's a special talent and his ability to change direction while not downshifting is awesome. I wouldn't be surprised if, over the course of the season, we start using him more as an outlet in space. We haven't used it that much because i'm sure they have a schedule of breaking him in, but I think they'll probably add some wrinkles in there as he progresses. He's too good not to do it, a legitimate 3 down back.

Also, good stuff Fuzzy. Keep 'em coming.

Thank you, Scalper!! I want to see Zeke used as this sort of threat, I remember watching those Rams teams and being in awe. Mostly because of Warner/Faulk :)

I won't get on Zeke too much with the receiving. He wasn't a huge receiver in college, might take him a year to get there as a receiver.

Comparing to Murray, believe he came out of college with around 150 receptions. Had 71 his senior year, which is most likely why Murray was an immediate threat in that regard. One of the reasons I consider Dunbar still valuable for now.

"His deep passes to the outside were accurate"

"His decision making continues to be a plus"

Direct quotes from the OP.

You're so full of **** that I can smell you from here.

Now, jump on that coffee, fraud.

.
what happened to the three touchdowns he made.? What happened to all the first down he made? What about the fact that he went into Lambeau Field and crushed Aaron Rodgers? He conveniently left those things out. Debating is not your gift.

i presume we are down to Zeke, Morris and Jackson next year, with Dunbar and Dmc gone?

Faster, stronger but not bigger than Emmitt (Emmitt was wider). And yes to the LT comp, imo.

@FuzzyLumpkins or @skinsscalper may have a different comp.
Zeke is actually bigger than Emmitt. Emmitt was shorter and his build was a little more compact which made him look a little bigger than he was. Emmitt's strengths were vision and balance. He wasn't fast but he rarely got caught from behind because his vision and ability to set up blocks afforded him the ability to move with fluidity and rarely with wasted motion. It's always easier to run than it is to chase and Emmitt used that to his full advantage.

LT is a decent comparison but honestly, LT never had Zeke's top end speed. If Zeke ends up with LTs skillset, and Faulk's savvy he'll be virtually unstoppable. That's a tall order for ANY athlete, though.

Maybe. Depends on what we do in the draft. I still would like to keep a receiving back on the roster for some packages, but it seems Dak doesn't look to his RB much so it might not be needed if he is the starter.
