No because he held the clipboard behind a great QB, learned the basics from some very good OC's, and because our offensive production last year was not by mistake.

Coaches, just like players have down years. To bail on one because of one bad year is dumb in my opinion.

I'm not bailing on Garrett

just wishing him to bail on us

you could fill that same line for any number of coordinators, even Eric Mangini fell along the same line, worked under Belichick, blah blah blah

So you want Garrett to bail on us? You honestly think that he wont make any changes, and that the offense we field next year (if he stays) will be the exact same of this past year? That after this colossal embarrassment of a season that he wont make any changes?

He's not Wade. He's not 60 something and running his game for over 30 years. He is maturing as a coach and finding out what works and what doesnt.

It's like people in Carolina wishing DeAngelo Williams bailed on them because he showed flashes, then had a bad 2nd year. I guarentee every Panther fan is glad that Williams is on their team, because they wouldnt be where they are without him.

he didn't change all year, except for 1 or 2 games, and then it was back to the same shoddy playcalling, what makes you think he's not going to continue to stick with his philosophy?

Because an offseason is TREMENDOUSLY different at making changes than during the season.

You cant change what you are during a season. What you have implemented in mini camps, training camps, and preseason is what you are. But when you have an offseason to look at what you did well, and what you did not do well, you have several more options to improve.

I have no doubt that Garrett is making necessary changes after this disaster of a season.

I would rather fire Wade and promote Garrett than see Garrett leave for another team.

I agree with you, for what it's worth.

I hope Garrett stays. He's 42, and has a bright future. I hope he eventually becomes the next HC here, but if he goes to Denver he'll be very successful because he'll have WRs that actually run their routes.

If he leaves, it'll always be a what could have been to me.

Man if he goes to Denver and wins...that's going to blow.

I'm in complete agreement with that statement.

Those wanting him gone are not making a convincing argument IMO. He is a wanted man around the league for a reason.

he probably wants to go some place where he can run an offense not try to get 1 guy the ball as a gameplan every week. who would you rather keep Garrett or Owens?

Yep...me too

I think he's gonna be a good HC, I'd rather it be here than somewhere else.

Besides if he leaves and turns into a great coach somewhere else, 99% of the people bashing Garrett now and wishing he'd be gone will blame Jerry for him not being here and saying its another example of Jerry being a stupid GM. GUARANTEED that happens.

I am just not sure how people after watching some of the pitiful performances I saw this year come to the conclusion that JG has to go.

Coaching, head coaching that is, bares a lot of the blame for the lack of leadership and discipline. All the breakdowns I saw on both sides of the ball lends me to believe you can not put this in the lap of JG.

I am having a hard time believing that if you (insert O Coordinator of your choice here) that the Cowboys season would have turned out any differently.

So funny that when Romo was having a good game the Cowboys did fine offensively, but when he did not the offense did not. Not sure if the Cowboys changed game plans in the 4th quarter against the Ravens or not:rolleyes: , but interestingly enough when Romo got a clue the offense was doing just fine.

Not saying anyone that wants JG outta here is wrong, but I have a hard time believing that any amateurs on this board are so in tune with offensive coaching that they were able to judge JG a dud after one year, because I know no one was trying to run him out of town after the year before.

Show me a body of work to judge him by and then maybe, but I am willing to give the guy a chance for now.

if Parcells was here, I can guarantee you that this O would have been much better this season

no way with this stable of backs, and with Romo's impulsiveness, does he have us rank 20th in rushing attempts

the fact that we barely devoted the offense to running the football hindered our offense greatly, and that IMO, is unforgiveable, and why I wouldn't mind it in the least if Garrett goes

it was a pitiful year of coordinating

its a bit funny to me how people are going up in arms abt not giving up on romo after one mediocre season but are willing to kick garrett to the curb after having the same bad season as romo's. i really think he'll be a great coach in an environment not as divided or crazy as the cowboys. where he has real known leaders, he can pick his personnel and like someone above said, where he doesnt have to worry abt his offense catering to one player just to make that player happy and to shut up. i knw all wide receivers want the ball, they always say they want the ball, but not all of them have diva attitudes and will throw tantrums if not catered to them.

with how last offseason played out, him turning down baltimore and atlanta, and being given a hefty raise for the incentive to stay with the cowboys, i think its better that jerry make him the hc now and fire wade, rather than making wade stay one more season just bec of "continuity." garrett might be diff when he's the hc rather than the oc, who knows?

its a crapshoot with coaches anyway. who knew first-timers like sparano, harbaugh, smith would pan out the way they did? who knew norv had it in him to turn the chargers season around? who knows how garrett will pan out after having 1 great season and 1 bad season? but id rather they give him one more chance rather than give up on him.
