That's a good point about the assistant coaches. Depressing, too.

Garrett makes an impression
Dallas Cowboys assistant head coach/offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is considered to be high on Denver's list to replace Mike Shanahan, according to an NFL source.
Garrett impressed Denver officials during his interview on Tuesday, according to the source. He was one of seven candidates interviewed as they concluded on Thursday.
Garrett, 42, also interviewed with the Detroit Lions on Monday. Denver owner Pat Bowlen and the search committee are expected confer and either decide to offer a candidate or begin a round of second interviews.
Last offseason, Garrett turned down jobs with Atlanta and Baltimore to return to the Cowboys and signed a hefty new contract that made him the highest paid assistant in the league at $3 million a year. And despite the Cowboys' drop off in offense and players complaining about his scheme, Garrett remains a heavily-sought assistant.
Broncos owner Pat Bowlen surprisingly fired Mike Shanahan after 14 seasons and two Super Bowl titles after Denver missed the playoffs. Denver has a search committee conducting interviews and it consists of Bowlen, chief operating officer Joe Ellis and three football operations executives.

One thing that struck me yesterday as I was talking to a few people about the possibility of Jason Garrett becoming the Broncos head coach is that he will have to take a pay cut. Garrett is currently making over $3 million a year, and the Broncos want to pay their new coach around $2 million, which is the going rate for coaches right now. If Garrett is interested in the Broncos, he has to make some hard decisions regarding his financial situation. In agreeing to interview for the job, he had to know there would be a salary range he would have to consider. But there are some things more important than money, and being a head coach is one of them.

no way with this stable of backs, and with Romo's impulsiveness, does he have us rank 20th in rushing attempts
the fact that we barely devoted the offense to running the football hindered our offense greatly, and that IMO, is unforgiveable, and why I wouldn't mind it in the least if Garrett goes
it was a pitiful year of coordinating

You think 20th is bad. How does 25th sound?
Rushing Stats
25th?
Is that right?
Dallas was bottom 10 in rushing attempts this season?
You have to be kidding me.
Not so fun to see it now. Pretty much just say that nearly all of the league attempted more runs than Dallas.

I hope you are right Hos. I think just because Garrett is doing interviews doesn't mean he plans to take the jobs. He did an interview last year and still decided to stay with Dallas.Hostile;2566246 said:Prediction...Denver will name Josh McDaniel their Head Coach on Monday.

Until the Cowboys actually do anything in the post season, I don't think it's crazy that some people are doubtful.
