well if you believe in the 3 year rule then it is 2 early to give up on Stanbach even though he wasn't shown anything he was drafted in the 4th round so we'll see.

i cannot understand why you would give PR reps to a guy who won't make the team and not the guy who will be doing it all year. so his first live PR is going to be in week 1? absolutely stupid.

I agree. And when Pacman goes and muffs his first punt in live action in umpteen months, no one should be all that surprised. It's hard to imagine there not being *some* rust (if not considerable) in the return game, too.

I am much less concerned about Adam Jones playing time returning punts getting reduced as I am making sure he gets plenty of playing time at CB.

Yup, plus I'm not sure how PR playing time he needs in an actual preseason game. As long as he fields them well in practice, no need to expose him to this because punt returning is all about feel anyway -- go find the soft spot in the coverage and house it baby!

No one "taught" Devin Hester to return punts the way he does, he just does it. Pacman will be the same. You either got the skillllz or you don't.
