I got a laugh out of that one, too.
Love how the author cites Jerry taking on Spellman and Underwood... Yeah, those worked out well. :abuseme:
I don't doubt that Jerry did ask staff what they thought about it. Probably every team has done that. But that ignores that they all said it wasn't worth it.
I think Spellman did ok for awhile. His play just never came back to the level he had before he became ill. Underwood was just too ill to play. I'd bet he is disabled. The program works well here and Jerry was one of the first to institute one I believe.

I would do it to ensure you acquire the player before he hits the market and the price goes up.
I think he's at his lowest value right now and if it's permitted, I would trade for him today while his value is at its' lowest point.
You would also have leverage in contract talks with him as well.
Look at what cornerbacks are making nowadays.
I think reward far outwieghs risk here.
I agree. Best to get him now and that is one way to do it and avoid losing him (assuming you don't want that to happen).

I don't agree with that at all. I don't believe anyone I have ever seen in NFL History is on par with that kid.
Gale Sayers was better than Hester IMO. But I can't think of anyone better since. Maybe Sanders had as much talent but didn't want to get hit IMO.
And to some others. Look this kid hasn't changed his colors. He is a punk and a thug. However, he's also a proven CB. I think he would do ok here. And we won't change our draft strategy even in the extremely unlikely event Pacman were reinstated before and signed on the dotted line. Maybe they wouldn't use two high picks on CBs but I don't see Dallas assuming Pacman is going to play for them. It's so ridiculous to think about I'm going to stop typing about it.
He would be a good pick up although I'd rather have Shawn Springs as Hos said. In fact I wish we could afford Springs and Pacman and a high draft pick. I don't trust Henry to play an entire year.
