You play the rookie that you drafted in the first round.

And lament the loss of a 4th or 5th round draft choice.

That's it.

Not sure what risks you are talking about?

Are you visualizing TO having a meltdown and then getting shot by Tank who was simply following the orders of Pacman?

something like that :laugh1:

Or you let Tenn cut Pacman and not give up anything. I hope we don't get him to start with but why would you give up any picks for a player Tenn does not want? Only reason they have not released him is because he is still suspended and it is not a sure thing he will be reinstated.

I would do it to ensure you acquire the player before he hits the market and the price goes up.

I think he's at his lowest value right now and if it's permitted, I would trade for him today while his value is at its' lowest point.

You would also have leverage in contract talks with him as well.

Look at what cornerbacks are making nowadays.

I think reward far outwieghs risk here.

Pacman has not even shown the league that he has changed which it why they continue to have him serve the suspension instead of reinstating him. Tenn knew he had a lot of issue and they gave him a chance I think it would be a mistake to get him. My hope is Dallas looks to the draft to add a CB; I don't think we are that desperate to take a chance on a thug like Pacman

Anyone know his current contract situation? I don't think he gets credit for last year.

He hasn't been reinstated yet, but they think that will happen before camp starts.

Jerry is such a genius. Jerry goes after troubled players, that's how he gets them so cheap.

Had Moss been a model citizen in Raider country, Cheats would never have gotten one of the best WRs on the planet. If Pacman was a model citizen, no team would have a chance at getting him and his talent.

So if Jerry can use his savvy, and get pacman to agree to get his life in order off the field, and put in a ton of incentives, we could come out of this thing not having to give up very much, and end up with an incredible corner.

The guy is on par with Hester as a returner.. oh and he just happens to be a good cover corner too... I mean.. if it wasn't such a perfect fit for what the team needs I wouldn't even consider it.. but if you can get him for a good price.. i don't see how you don't do it.. for low risk.. If they didn't cut Keith Davis for similar tactics.. heck he was being shot at while driving his candy apple.. whatever.. I'm pretty sure they are at about the same level of thugdome.. or whatever you want to call that lifestyle.. The fact is that the rest of the secondary is a bunch of good guys to keep him straight and Ken Hamlin can give him a few more reasons not to go out to clubs looking for trouble.. Jerry believes that he has the supporting cast to absorb someone like a Pacman.. and I would probably agree.

Not true. Jerry Jones passed on Randy Moss way before Irvin came here, and he created a spot for Calvin Hill to oversee this problem of bad-boys way before Bill came on board.

What JJ has done is provided a mechanism to ensure that his players, even the troubled ones, become better people.

Notice I said a lot of the cleaning up had to do with Bill, not all. Jerry cares about his players, and he wants them to be good people. His hiring of Calvin hill was a great move. Bottom line the numbers say Parcells did have a lot to do with lack of criminals on this team during his tenure. We had 4 arrests in 4 years under Parcells, compare that number to those from the 15 years under Jerry he was not the coach, and I think you'll have to draw one of two conclusions. Either Parcells fostered a don't get into trouble atmosphere or he was incredibly lucky.

 @ Pac being as good a returner as Hester... And at equating Keith Davis to this thug.

And that is not a valid statistical comparison. Your analysis would only be valid during the years Jerry actually started making changes, which was at least 4 years before Parcells even got here, not the full 15.

How many arrests did the Cowboys have since Calvin Hill came, and during those times he rejected players like Randy Moss?

In 2006 their PR numbers were nearly identical, both averaged around 12.9/ret and both had 3 TD. Only difference was that Pacman did it with 14 less returns. Hester had 4 returns of 40+, Jones had 3.. I would say they were on par.. and Jones, much like Hester, single handedly won like 2 or 3 games for them that year.

And I'm sorry.. but Keith Davis IS a thug.. or thinks he is.. Pacman probably just hangs out with a worse crowd of degenerates.. of course this is not to say any of his actions are excuseable.. just that he won't neccessarily be a homewrecker.. obviously he'll be on some form of probation anyway to try to curtail some of his actions.

It is not worth explaining to our children that winning with a bunch of criminals is better than losing with good people.
