Cowboys sources said the most recent injury receiver Terry Glenn suffered is not related to his previous knee injury. Glenn said two days ago in an interview with ESPN.com that the knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 1 is related to this most recent injury that has him out for tonight's game.
The original injury to his right knee was tendon-related. The Cowboys say this is bone-related.
Either way, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said the type of surgery Glenn has is up to him.
He has to options: Arthroscopic surgery, which could allow him to return in three to four weeks. But it could also leave him vulnerable to a more potentially damaging injury. Or he could have a surgery that will likely repair the problem, but end his season.
"This is totally his decision," Stephen Jones said. "We support him either way completely."
Don't expect the Cowboys to run out and look for a replacement on the waiver wire. The Cowboys have tried a few out and spoken to the agent who represents recently-released Reche Caldwell, but don't expect anything soon.
