That only could happen if Cooper actually can play. We can't assume he's capable of starting just because he's a former first-round pick. Right now, he joins Green on the can't stay healthy list.

Don't get me wrong, I like the signing because he has some talent, but I don't go into this expecting much.

i dont think collins's injury rap sheet is anything like green.
green is the worst i have ever seen except matt johnson

This could well end up as a great signing for us. He was a stud coming out of college. I believe his pro career has been derailed by injuries. Hopefully that and coaching/scheme have held him back. I love getting this type of potential talent for free.

Yes, it is because Collins is much better at guard... or at least the team thinks so.

They practiced him at tackle some as a rookie and apparently didn't like what they saw.

right, now collins is the savior at rt?

now you are saying free is better than leary or collins?
What I believe doesn't matter, the team thought Free was a better tackle than Collins and that's all that matters since I don't get to make that decision for them.

It also amazes me that they are relying on a player who was traded and then cut twice by 2 Oline needy teams in the same year to take a starting spot on the line.
They aren't. He's depth. Hence why I said Collins won't be at RT

It always amazes me how little some here actually listen. Collins is not and I repeat NOT a RT. This much had already been said by our own coaching staff. The draft guys when he was drafted etc. I don't know why people refuse to listen lol
Who are you?

I just read an article on ESPN a few days ago that says otherwise.

Executive vice president Stephen Jones was asked Tuesday about the possibility of La'el Collins playing tackle, a question many fans have posed over the last few months.

"We've visited about that," Jones said. "Obviously right now we feel good about Doug coming back and being able to do that. But if Doug were to retire or not be around or if something happened to him, than yeah, we've visited about who would have the best chance to go outside of our inside guys. I think [Collins] would certainly be an option."

I would rather have a liability at left guard between two all pros than right tackle.

If the team really feels Collins is much better at guard, leave him there but I hope he gets plenty of RT reps so he can have a chance.

There are a lot of possibilities at RT. I think you'll see the Cowboys give some work to Collins and Martin at RT in training camp to see how they fair. Both players are best at guard, but it doesn't mean they can't be good tackles. Its all about getting the best players on the field and Cooper does give the Cowboys some experience at guard to see what lineup is the best. Nothing is set in stone at this point

Ugh. Now you people are trying to move Martin?

Nothing like playing between two all pros in Smith and Frederick to get you at your best. I'd have preferred two years at a semi low hit since I don't want both him and Collins as free agents if both have solid years.
