No, 8-8 isn't better. This is exactly what so many people miss. Romo's not the reason for the 8-8. Surround him with a team like Seattle has, and you would see a difference. Take Romo away from the flawed roster you have now, and you get the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Remember, interception kings Eli Manning and Joe Flacco have won titles. And neither of them, in my opinion, is better than Romo. Watch Eli and Flacco highlights from last year for details.

Thank you.

Galloway does not get it. The cowboys were 8-8 with the worse defense in the league. It took a half a year for the offensive line to start playing solid. Retooling the trenches and a solid linebacker, this team has a great chance to win the nfl east before the last week of the season.

the trouble is, sir, his recent "good years" have not been good. And I doubt his remaining "good years" will be any better. For us, not his individual stats.

Take my graciousness towards romo with a grain of salt. I think he's an average qb but were stuck with him until he retires.

I wonder if Galloway and Jerry enjoy the same scotch. I personally prefer Oban14.

Galloway is being facetious about trading up and drafting Johnny Manziel. He's not being facetious about the soap opera called the Dallas Cowboys. :(

Any team needing a QB would. The problem is the Cowboys couldn't afford to trade that contract. They would be the ones to eat the bonus money already paid. The new team would only have to pay the per year salary.

I'm not so sure about this. Romo has had a lot of injuries these past few seasons and he's not going to play cheap. Not for us and not for other teams. I think it would be tougher then some might think to get rid of that contract but I guess there is only one way to know for sure.

Romo's recent "good" years have been excellent if you consider the circumstances around him. Romo has been the only reason this team has been relevant the last couple years. How many QB's are going to carry a team with a defense that gives up 6,645 yards? Didn't Drew Brees go 7-9 in 2012 when the Saints supported his efforts with the worst defense in football? Did New Orleans fans want to trade him?

Sorrry, but one of these days, the Romo bashers will get their wish, and he'll be gone forever. And when we're stuck in a 4-12 dumpster for a few years, it's possible some just might realize, hey, that guy WAS kind of good, wasn't he?

It occurs to me, that, from time to time, we tend to blame it on the QB for various reasons: Not getting to the playoffs, interceptions, a milquetoast style of leadership, brilliant individual stats that do not translate into playoff success, 5-pick days, the insistence that "we have to do better" after losses and inexplicable capacity to fold , i.e. choke, under pressure. And that is not Romo's fault . . . wait . . . what am I saying . . . those innumerated reasons is the reason i cannot wait for a change in the reigns!

But, let me congratulate you on your Romo loyalty.
You, obviously a man knowledgeable about football and the value of consistent 8-8 seasons. How we will wistfully look back at the Romo years and say, in that we we Romo "bashers" have, "We miss the inconsistent play and 8-8 seasons! We miss halfing a QB in his mid 30s who gave his all and kept choking."

I get choked up just thinking about how we "bashers" will roux the day we questioned the value of Romo. I am getting all choked up, just like Romo gets in the crucial last games/moments of the season.

Shame on all you Romo bashers! No oatmeal and biscuits for yew!!!!;)

I just can't take you seriously when you use "have" instead of "half".
I remember the good old days when a peoples half the integrities to keep in character. Your Romo hate has made you forget who you are, sir.

the night school guy say to use have so I did. Are you saying he was mocking me and led me astay?
I don't know if it is endearing or creepy that you actually read my posts. Most of the educated here just go to the next knowing that 1. I either half . . .er have nothing to say or 2. My logic and parsuasivemness are so overpower that taking acception with my posts would be futile. Like silly earthlings fighting the power of Cretor of the galaxy Arrej SenoJ (spell them words backwards and you get the key to the Universe).

But it is futil to reject my farmers branch and JC schoolings. I will stick to half and have as they apply properly.

And, sir, I do not hate Romo. I love Romo.
And I am sure corners around the NFL lofe him as well as their fans, particularly in Philly and Washington and Seattle after the "bobble." But that is all milk under the burning bridge and we should forget that.
Half a nice day, my brotha from a different udder.

I do detect gracousness in your posts. I say that we half lost the ability to be kind to each other. Romo however is not average. he is great. Check his stats. But, nooooooooo, you choose to focus on his average team results.;)

If Houston wants to trade Romo for JM. Run to the podium and make that trade. At least it will be something different. 5-11 or 11-5 are both better than 8-8.

5-11 is better than 8-8. Brilliant.

With the always overblown Scouting Combine now done with, and even with the NFL Draft still two months away, it’s never too early to scheme and scam on behalf of our troubled local football club.

Who knows? Mr. Jerry might be actually reading this stuff. My ideas, and yours, are as good as his track record when it comes to evaluating talent.

So here’s a grand plan:

Trade Tony Romo to the Houston Texans for the first pick in the draft.

Use that pick to draft, yes, Johnny Football.

Stop it right now with your dog-cussing. You can’t bully me.

Gets dangerous when you start predicting what you would do a year from now. I mean, even if we were the worst team in the league, and got the number one pick, who's to say that guy will be a sure fire hit? To me, the whole "suck for Luck" thing was an anomaly. What if the top player in the draft next year is a guy like Eric Fisher?

I don't like stinking it up either and I do think this cap hell thing is overblown but in the scenario previously mentioned that would mean we would have the top pick most likely 2 years in a row cause we traded Romo for the Texans # 1 pick.

Then of course we would stink it up so badly without him and having to absorb $41 million accelerated into this years cap, that 30 of our 53 man roster would prob be on 1 year vet minimum salary contracts.

Then we absorbed all the bad contracts, have 2 new 1st overall picks to go along with this years 1st and this years and next years 2nds with the bundles of cap space.

Plus a young QB playing on a rookie contract.

So is it worth stinking this year for all of that or not now?

Let's see here,,,, take 2 of the most controversial QBs in football and have the most controversial owner trade one and draft the other... that sounds like a pot-stirring recipe even an old fool could follow (yep, Gallowad).
