Of course, b/c Chad Hutchinson and Tony Banks are the only alternative to Romo, right? Thank God the Seahawks weren't paralyzed from fear of the unknown after Hassleback.
And Hassleback had led them to a super Bowl. and they still let him go. this idea that the Cowboys can't let Romo go because the team will go 4 and 8 instead of 8and 8, is a joke. so what? either way we stink. this team is not winning anything with Romo leading it.

No team in the NFL is going to trade for Romo..

Why would any team want to replace future improvement with having to retro-fit Romo to a new offense as opposed to just drafting a QB and starting from scratch?

Would completely make no sense.

This is not Hershel Walker Part Deux.

31 other team's fan base does not live in fear of life after Romo. I hope Romo stays here and declines until fans are begging for Q. Carter.

Both the Browns and Raiders are apparently interested in Derek Carr...

Who fears about life after Romo? Why does life after Romo have to start now? Dallas can keep Romo and still draft a QB for the future. None of the top 3 QBs are worth drafting in the 1st round and especially at the top of the 1st round. The fear is that those guys may end up with a career similar to Q. Carter's.

I don't understand why we would go Manziel anyways, considering our offense. Since when have we ever run a boot-leg in the last 6 years?

If we had a new coach and this is what they wanted then I would be ok but I don't want Garrett having the excuse of a rookie QB .

This. ^^^^

Let JG screw up a 6th rounder or something. Not the #1 overall pick!

Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys are married to each other for the next 3 years.

Its that simple.

You can discuss this until this thread is 100 pages deep.

But it will not change the fact that Romo will be the QB for this team for the next 3 years. Barring injury.

This thread may not reach 100 pages, but Im almost certain the totality of "Draft Johnny Football" threads we've had already and the coming ones in the next 66 days will reach or exceed 100 pages.

Because he a cut from the Romo tree..

he improvises, creates on the run and has a live arm.

In many ways he reminds me more of Kapernick..

..not a problem to me.

Can you not read? I specifically said to eat the cap hit and start over. I'm wondering why all of a sudden he is untradeable from the perspective of the other team. I mean he IS the greatest qb in franchise history right? Shouldn't the league be breaking down the door to trade for him?

Eating the cap hit isn't a thing you can just do. Who else do you propose the Cowboys cut in order to get under the cap in a scenario where they also traded Romo?

Jerry and Johnny? That, friends, is the perfect pig-and-slop combo. If you think it’s nuts around Valley Ranch now ...

Jerry and Johnny out there loose on local streets would be a Twitter tsunami.

Galloway is right about that, Jerry and Johnny could conceivably break Twitter, it would be a circus of epic proportions!
The media would absolutely love it, ESPN would probably move their headquarters to Valley Ranch. Even give them their own ESPN channel, ESPN J&J.

Then we suck so bad this year to get next years 1st overall too and whatever draft picks for trading the other aging players who's contracts we'd eat in the same year? 30 of the 53 man game day roster on a 1 year contract at $500,00 each?

Would you do it?

Gets dangerous when you start predicting what you would do a year from now. I mean, even if we were the worst team in the league, and got the number one pick, who's to say that guy will be a sure fire hit? To me, the whole "suck for Luck" thing was an anomaly. What if the top player in the draft next year is a guy like Eric Fisher?

The Texans would never trade the 1st overall pick for Romo. Even with a cap friendly contract. He's on the wrong side of 30 with back issues.

lol.. Don't start turning on Romo now. You have been defending him for years on here. All he needs is a good team around him and he can go all the way... remember?

I like the way Galloway thinks. Something different has to happen and I'm tired of being stuck in the mud. If Houston is stupid enough to trade for Romo, go ahead.

They aren't dumb enough. Jacksonville or Cleveland may be though. Problem is Jerry isn't smart enough to try.

the trouble is, sir, his recent "good years" have not been good. And I doubt his remaining "good years" will be any better. For us, not his individual stats.

I just can't take you seriously when you use "have" instead of "half".
I remember the good old days when a peoples half the integrities to keep in character. Your Romo hate has made you forget who you are, sir.

Both teams would be stupid to do it. It's not happening.

I wasn't turning on Romo. I was being realistic about the situation. No team is going to give up what it would take for the Cowboys to trade him because of the issues I mentioned.

Does that mean I think Tony Romo has been a problem here? No it does not.
