Gallup got paid after an injury, will we do the same for Pollard?

We saw the injury to Gallup and how limited he seemed this past season. Do we keep this in mind when assessing whether to keep Pollard or not?? Give your thoughts please...
Tua Tagovailoa played 28 days after the same injury & same surgery...

If you don't think Dallas should re-sign TP you wasn't paying attention this past season. The injury isn't as bad as most make it out to be, it's not Dak's nor Gallup's type of injury, so why compare to those injuries?

Pollard will get franchised for $10M. If he's used right he'll be well worth the cap number.

And you will love the taste of it once Zeke leads the NFL in rushing yards for 2023 season. Under the new great offense with MM.

Don't take this serious...as some will....
I dont think your 100% wrong. I think behind a real o line and real run game scheme...zeke csn still contribute. And....tony or whoever it is....will blow up.
If anyone wants to argue value vs contract....have st it. Not intetested.

So that long list of injured players with big new contracts.....nothing to worry about.
Okay....since you say so.

Honestly, I hope not. I wish Pollard would take a team-friendly 1yr deal. But Jerry will over pay

I kinda think so. As much as injuries suck, they can help a team retain a player due to injury clauses and whatnot. It happened with Barry Church also.

What will be interesting will be, if the Ravens don’t select the Texas RB and he is still on the board when we select.

I do believe Pollard will be franchised tagged and back on this team next year. Also think Zeke will be back in the saddle as well.

I wouldn't, but they will.

Different injury and different position. Also Pollard is explosive, Gallup has never been that. Gallup got highly overrated because he got to enjoy being the 3rd or 4th target and can't handle the heat of being a no 2, he's a good 3. As long as Zeke is gone it's fine bringing back Pollard on a franchise tag.

We put ourselves in a corner by planning on moving on from Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson. Jerry knew pretty early on we were probably going to part ways with Cooper and allow Cedrick Wilson to walk so he had to re-sign Gallup. He couldn’t afford to lose all three receivers. Gallup rehabbing an ACL made it easier to re-sign him. We’re in a pickle right now at RB because Zeke is in decline and Pollard is a free agent. The fan base would be livid if we hang on to Zeke at a reduced salary and allow Pollard who’s our best back and playmaker to walk. I would think Pollard’s injury would lower his bargaining power in free agency. He suffered a couple of injuries last season that caused him to miss games so teams may question his durability and he’ll be still rehabbing when free agency starts. Losing Pollard and keeping Zeke isn’t going to make us a better team. The Cowboys will likely franchise Pollard.

Paid DLaw when he was injured and look at the return on investment
Drafted then paid Jaylon Smith and look at the return on investment
Paid Dak when he was injured and look at the return on investment
Paid Gallup when he was injured and look at the return on investment.
then we wonder why this team has not been deep in the playoffs the last 28 years.

Different injuries so you cannot compare apples to oranges here.

T.O broke fibula and returned to form in what 4 weeks? I can't remember. ACL are notoriously tricky to get back to 100% within a single season. Usually takes 2 seasons before you truly know.

Yep, without doubt we will give him a 4 year deal worth big dollars and hamstrung this teamagain.
Love TP but 1 tag then walk
Love me some Tony Pollard as well but I'm with you on tagging for one season and then let him walk. Draft a back this season and see what you have in Davis.

I wouldn't pay any running back in today's NFL. Look at the two teams in the super bowl. The league has changed. Drafting them high and then giving them a big contract has hurt teams more than they have helped.
