well...you COULD, but I like my chili thick, so thick a spoon can stand up...This is soupy and has veggies like carrots it. Just remembered I added a can of corn to it too. lol.. I added some creole seasonings..my own special spices, and the V8..and it already smells tasty.

I got ya now, its a gumbo,, that's Cajun for chili... some of the best gumbo on the planet comes from a little hole in the wall down in the French Quarter called Ma Bells.

I am a one Bloody Mary kind of guy. I miss having drinks with my dad too

YUP..he passed away after a long battle with COPD AND CANCER...but even in bad health,like clock work, he would call me after a great play,a win,a loss and we would shoot the bull and talk about why we won or lost. That's when he could no longer go down to the eagles...he was a shut in at that point. He was my best friend,other than my wife and the Lord. Seems weird still, even though he passed away around Thanksgiving 2013.

Sorry for your loss my friend, me and you have a lot in common, lost my Dad the same way, COPD and Cancer as well, and we had the exact Cowboys connection. He knew every player and would call me constantly on game day,,, I miss that on gameday.

My dad is coming home today, he's been in Mexico for two weeks. First Chrisrmas I ever spent without him. Can't wait to see him. I'm lucky to still have him, he's 83 years young. Salud!

just got in from the duck hunt. brrrrrrrrr. cold outside. only 6 of us on the ranch today. be making biscuits and gravy with venison sausage and scrambled eggs in a minute. hot coffee. made split pea soup yesterday. just put the pot on the wood burning stove. guests are free to get a bowl whenever they want. nothing extravagant today. as usual, sounds like a lot of great meals. bon apetit, zoners.
