Got a message on my receiver from Directv, offering a preview of Sunday Ticket. So all customers will have a chance to watch any game they want on Sunday ticket this weekend.

I'm assuming this includes the Dallas game.

I better for how much I pay.

I'm wondering does that mean I get 1/16th off on my bill because they're making Sunday Ticket free?

I plan to ask.

I thank God everyday for the important things; food, clothing, shelter, DirecTV

Well, if you pay, you get it anyway.:laugh2:

This is a nice gift for those who have DirecTV, but can't afford Sunday Ticket.

Good luck with that, but the value of the package is indeed reduced by 1/16th.

It's only like $300 bucks for the entire season.......Not bad at all.

I agree. I have it, but believe it or not, there are people who literally cannot afford $300 a season.

I just had directv installed just for the football, so tired of only getting 3 games on Sunday that and only getting about 3/4 Cowboys game a season :banghead:

just thought I would share for no reason at all :lmao2:

that's interesting assumption, I thought that if a game was a televised game, but blacked out in the local area not even Sunday ticket would broadcast the game in the blacked out area.

example, here in Atlanta when the Falcons are playing it's always a local broadcast and I can't watch the game on the Sunday Ticket channel, so if the game is blacked out on the local channel, you're SOL... Now that said Arthur Blank or one of his companies buy all unsold tickets prior to game time so there has not been a black out in Atlanta since he bought the team.

So if you're in the local coverage area for the Bucs, and the game is blacked out then I wouldn't count on seeing it on Directv either.

The game's not blacked out. I posted this a couple days ago. Thread's in the NFL zone, I think.

Bucs avoid blackout, Bengals get extension
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 10, 2009 2:53 PM ET
The Bucs can't guarantee viewers will like what they see, but fans in Tampa will be able to watch the team's season opener from the comfort of their home.

The team announced Thursday that the game will be televised locally, although there are still seats available.

It's unclear how many seats haven't been sold for Sunday's game, but it's not a great sign for possible future blackouts that the team is struggling to sell an attractive game like the home opener against the Cowboys.

Meanwhile the Bengals have been given a 24-hour extension to sell nearly 5,000 tickets. The league usually doesn't extend the deadline unless there is good reason to believe a sellout is coming.

If the game is shown locally (sold out), DirecTV does not air it. The local affilliate does.

Just a little clarification for those who might need it.

And what do I get for a gift, since I succumbed to the advertising blitz regarding Sunday Ticket, what, 15 years ago?

Its a good price, but not when the CSU school system decides to raise your tuition by $300-400, then you have no money left. But someday i shall have the money to pay it and it shall be well worth every dollar. For now its free preview for me.

It's only costing me $130 this season. You guys apparently didn't try to cash in on the "economy discount." ;)

You were in agreement with the Ticket's fair purchase price. Why should another's good fortune be a cause for concern? Sounds similar to agreeing to work all day for a certain wage and then complaining when the boss pays the same wage to those who've worked only a half day.
