On the west coast, so headed over to my favorite doughnut shop right now. Grilling victory burgers for lunch and I heard that we are having lasagna for dinner.

Hope we can get it done today. Also, makes me want to punch myself in the face, but go Eagles!

Bought it with the first round of stimulus checks, so not long at all.

I'm extremely brand loyal, so I'll be a BGE and Weber guy for the rest of my life.


I would only buy the BGE charcoal the first couple of months I had but found out it’s made by royal oak which is a lot cheaper than buying it with the BGE label on it. Just some info I stumbled across after the first few months of having it. Figured it was worth mentioning in case you didn’t already know

In New Jersey, a sloppy joe is something else entirely. It’s a triple decker sandwich... cold deli meat and cheese on dense rye bread... glued together with coleslaw and Russian dressing.

We Live in NC but, brought some back from a trip. Never tried them before. We shall see today. Can't be bad they are ribs. Right?
Hy-Vee has a damn good meat department, so chances are you'll be very satisfied!! Honestly, I've never seen Hy-Vee ribs sold in packages like that, so I'll be keeping my eyes out for them next time I go grocery shopping!!

Sorry city, I couldn't resist and I don't know you that well but sometimes these thoughts just pop in and I have to get rid of them. Leave them in there to marinate and it just gets worse.

last weekend of deer season. hunting in snow thurs. and fri was great. going simple as can be. beef stew made with venison. brown the meat in the dutchie, throw in the oven for 3 hours and eat. bon apetit, zoners.

serious question. do you stir your roux, or do you bake the flour in the oven first. i used to be a stirrer, but now i bake the flour first. saves tons of time and tastes every bit as good.
Hahahaha...how ironic that you asked me that. So I used to stir the roux with the typical oil and flour but to make it a bit healthier I stated baking the flour with no oil.

On this last batch I baked the flour but couldn’t get the gumbo to thicken up to the consistency I like (even after using file and okra) so at the last minute I made a roux on the stove top with oil/flour and dumped it in.

I still can’t figure out why I couldn’t get thick like usual but it ended up turning out great.

Well, I hope thjs isn't the last one for the season. The team has been playing well and its been fun to string a few wins together. Gonna light the pit and grill some steaks and ribs.
