Gameday menu

Using the leftover hambone for some navy bean soup with skillet cornbread and Mimosas with fresh squeezed for the game with leftover champagne. Actually, the cornbread is from leftovers as this was what was left over after they ground the corn.

JIMMY BUFFET will be along shortly. He was researching Arizona indigenous food and had a whole menu ready around Hatch chiles until someone told him they're from New Mexico.

Starting a low carb diet for a few weeks.....bone in Ribeyes, medium for me and my daughter and medium well for my wife....cauliflower mash with butter, cheese and bacon and a side salad.
What's on your plate....Salud and Go Cowboys!

Do you like avocados? They have carbs but still good for a low carb diet (fiber). Anyway they are awesome grilled. Cut them in half, rub some olive oil on the fruit and cook them face down. Takes around 10 minutes to cook them on low heat. You want grill marks. I fill them with fresh pico de gallo and cotija.

Sounds good. My wife went on this Keto kick that she still uses a lot. Cauliflower mash is surprisingly pretty good, but she'll still fix me real mashed potatoes...as long as I peel & mash them.

Today we're going with venison chili.

My daughter got me a 1.5 liter bottle of Grey Goose....I normally don't drink the first 6 to 8 weeks of the year, I might have to make an exception.....I can drink that bottle in 2 or 3 days.....Salud!

It took me a while to get her to go from well done to medium well....I keep telling her that it's a waste of a good steak

I used to want mine well done all the time until I was in my mid 20's. Then went to Medium well. But now I guess the PC term is ...thin line pink....as when I do eat out, and have steak, that is what they call it when I say medium well.

anyway.
I worked with a guy in South Florida. He had a part time job as a waiter, in a pretty fancy restaurant. He said when people came in and ordered Filet Mignon' well done. He told them not to waste their money, they are better off just ordering roast beef.

So I tried a ribeye medium well the next time we went out. And could not believe how much better it tasted.
