Gameday menu

Using the leftover hambone for some navy bean soup with skillet cornbread and Mimosas with fresh squeezed for the game with leftover champagne. Actually, the cornbread is from leftovers as this was what was left over after they ground the corn.

JIMMY BUFFET will be along shortly. He was researching Arizona indigenous food and had a whole menu ready around Hatch chiles until someone told him they're from New Mexico.
I'm not cooking that today, but I plan on using my leftover ham bone to make soup with navy beans as well. Probably tomorrow. Also, I will add some cabbage to it.

Yep. Just cut it in half, rub some olive oil, sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper and grill face down. It is a bit difficult to describe but grilled avocados have a nice subtle smokey taste. This is not my picture but this is essentially what they look like.

That looks delicious!

There are many kinds including the sweet that is more like cake than cornbread and the Mexican which has creamed style corn, cheese and jalapenos and most of them mix cornmeal with flour but I am doing the one today that is nothing but cornmeal.

Cornbread is a tradition in Texas with chili and I've never done that, doesn't seem to jive like Fritos or crackers or tortillas to me.

I’ve had it before but was probably turned off because it was a dry version of it. The one one you describe as having the jalapeños, creamed corn and cheese sound like a keeper though.

I hadn't drank for about 3 weeks, made an exception this weekend. Gonna go cold Turkey for a few weeks starting tomorrow....Salud!
I don’t drink too often anymore, but we throw the NYE party every year and with the college playoffs, it was an extra long party. Been a rough couple of days.

Starting a low carb diet for a few weeks.....bone in Ribeyes, medium for me and my daughter and medium well for my wife....cauliflower mash with butter, cheese and bacon and a side salad.
What's on your plate....Salud and Go Cowboys!

Ranching--- i hear the low carb high protein is good diet all around....but that would mean NO PIZZA.....that might very well throw me into clinical deep depression of which there are no meds to help?

can we go low carb but if Cowboys play we can throw it out the window???

One day a week? No problem....I like the thin and crispy crust from domino's. It's just a bit thicker than a flour tortilla. Italian sausage and extra cheese.....I always save a couple of slices for breakfast, heat it up and put a fried egg on it with salsa! Good stuff.
