They have 6 draft picks and 2 of them are late in the draft. Don't they need 2 safeties and a guard. Are they going to end up with 2 rookies in the back of their secondary?
Get one later in FA and draft one
I think they should have let slay go and signed G-J but they have a great DL and will put pressure on the QB

When you got to pay that 2nd qb contract, you lose a lot of good players.
That's what is puzzling me. Even if they extend their QB before the season starts, and no matter what they pay him, he's not going to be a big cap hit until 2025. They have a good two year window before the crap hits the fan.

Damn can’t even sign him to a 8 million dollar deal?

He didn't ask for 8 million from the Eagles. He was asking for his market value of 13M per. The Eagles offered him 3 years 24 million. He took that as an insult. I guess he's hoping the Lions see how great he is and give him that much next year.

Absolutely agree here.

They have Bradberry and Maddox already. A guy like Witherspoon/Gonzales with their first pick is a plug and play legit corner.

Pretty much the reason the Saints traded him for peanuts

Funny to read all the kool-aid drinkers claiming a balance of power shift when the draft has yet to take place, summer camps have yet to take place, and the season hasn't even started yet....but hey, the balance of power shift.

"The disrespect is real". Sometimes I think some of these guys are just flat out stupid. I can understand that they want to be paid the most possible. I can even understand when they say the salary cap isn't their problem. But the least they can do is understand that it's someone's problem, and it directly affects them. Business decisions have to be made, it's not disrespect. a lot of these players need to take a course on what a zero sum game means. The NFL isn't 100% that, but it's similar.

So he would rather go to an inferior team for less money?

Sounds like he has a big ego, and he thinks he is worth top pay for his position.
Not too bright, will see how it works out next 3 years.
I mean money wise maybe it makes sense? Go to the Lions and they continue to rise and he has a big year…..I kind of don’t fault him he should’ve been priority over Slay, Cox and Maybe Kelce…. I think they goofed they thought his market would be bigger than what it was similar to how we thought Kearse and Donovan would get big deals….

To be honest the Eagles defense (especially secondary) started to struggle when he was hurt. Something is up with him on a personal level if he can’t get more then a 1 year deal from Detroit.
I looked up his page I remember his issues I just didn’t know all of them was him lol. Seems like some issues in the locker room but that Lions locker room should be ok with Dan.

Player wise it's a pretty big loss and they are thin at safety now. But as someone said, it's odd that he could only get a 1 year deal from Detroit. That being said, Roman Harper was on a podcast and insinuated Gardner-Johnson has some off the field "stuff" that he needs to keep in check.
