Much like last year, Mack Brown's pride will be this team's undoing. He recruited Gilbert so hard and hyped him up so much that he simply can't bring himself to pull the kid. He'll ride him, hell or highwater, all the way into a forced retirement. It's a damn shame too, because David Ash can play.

Mack has been so right for so long that it's almost like he doesnt know what to do when his first instinct doesnt work. His personel moves make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

david ash should be playing full time, gilbert is a bust, as he has CLEARLY shown to every but mack from the national championship game up until tonight, and case mccoy might be colt's brother, but he isnt even close in terms of ability as colt was. Ash is the man!

IMO Texas needs to toss both Gilbert and Mac Brown. There are several better coaches out there that would love the Texas job.

TCU's new QB is 10x better than Gilbert and he makes a lot of rookie type mistakes.
