Garrett and Phillips

I could be. Going mostly off if personal experience and my recollections if which posters complained the most back then. These things tend to remain fairly constant. With "realists" complaining about everything and homers defending everything.

True words there.

Wow, isn't that funny, ... what, .. are you like 12?

Let's see, .. posts are into the 40's, .. and it's heading to page3, .. so I'm guessing it's a thread.
Sorry to confuse you. Most people managed to figure it out on their own.

Good job. I think it was that last line that threw me off. Something about in for a long bad ride? Makes me wanna jump off an overpass with a sack of broken glass. I have to think it will get better as long as the roster does, I think thats the difference in the 2 coaches records your comparing too.

I see Wade hasn't stopped trying to convince the world he is a good head coach. He must have a card in his wallet with all his statistical arguments ready at every turn. Phillips sucks as a head coach and Jerry sucks for not seeing what the rest of the nfl already knew.

What do you think this implies, or what are you trying to point out with this?

You've said this before and I honestly don't know where you are trying to go with it.

Not going anywhere with it, really. I just think that's what's happening. The posters dissatisfied most with the trends under Wade are largely the group most dissatisfied with Garrett. Their frustration's only gotten greater the last three seasons. And the guys most likely to stick up for Wade and the team are also most likely to stick up for Garrett now.

Its really simple. He had a better record than jg through 56 games. 2 nfc east titiles and 2 playoff appearences with our only playoff win in 18 years. Jg won less games. No nfc east titles. No playoff appearences. No playoff wins. 3 straight week 17 choke jobs vs nfc east teams. I don't see how people argue jg is better but carry on.

OK, .. so it's the off-season.

Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett are tied at 56 games as the Dallas Cowboys head coach ….

RECORD AS COWBOYS COACH:

Wade Phillips 34-22 Garret 29-27

We are in for a long, bad ride. As if it hasn’t been long enough and bad enough as it is.

Tom Landry started out 13-38-3 in his first 54 games

Good coaches reputations stand on their own. Nothing needs said because they win. Their records, titles, and accomplishments speak for themselves.

Poor coaches either have to toot their own horn, .. or hope their followers are busy to convince others that they are a good coach.

He built the Cowboys from nothing though.

Jason should have done a lot better than he has done. He's just not a very good coach at this point in his career.

The only hope we have for next year is the fact he won't have his hands on the offense much at all.

The less he does the better for the Cowboys.

Yes, he did.

And ? .... so what?

Certainly you know the back story about how he started, ... and that it has no relevance to how Wade and Garrett started.

I never liked the wade hire but I was fine with it knowing the team was good and he could coach defense at least. So I supported him and I really liked the players on the team. The man is not a head coach however and put the team in a really bad place.

I was on board with garrett when he took over because I fell for all of the things that were said about him by the guys in the media that I trust and unfortunately we were all wrong. He is not what he was sold as and has been a terrible disappointment and I think he is a horrendous gameday coach. that is something that wade did not have a problem with, he was good on gameday...with wade it was the rest of the time you had to worry about the team because as spears said he was their grandpa.

I thought garrett was a guy in charge and had a plan or a vision. Turns out he is just a politician and we are stuck with him for years to come.

Im pretty sure Garrett had some say when Wade was the hc, so Wade didnt build it all by himself.

Wade is like the kid brother who walks into your room and destroys the Lego city it took weeks to build in a matter of minutes.

I will be pretty happy when this and "right kinda guy" is out of the fan collective lexicon.

As Long as Red is parroting pressers, I think its here to stay. When he's gone then the Process will be over. You may get your wish at season's end.

Yes I know this, and this was the response I expected. And good responses.
Just thought I would throw that out there.
And I agree, Garrett should have done better. But I also take into account of the decimating injuries over the past 2 years. So won't do that comparison.
But stats and such can be used to justify ones opinion how ever they see fit. I am sure there are other comparisons similar that goes either way. Average for 3 or 4 years, then next thing you know, a SB win or at least an appearance.
Wade lost the team, for whatever reasons, but Garrett has not lost this team. This is the year we will see.

Except in Chicago, but they were cold and stuff

That was just a butt whipping, it happens, not a result of losing the team.
If he lost the team, explain why they had a chance to beat the Eagles in the last game, with a horrible defense, and a back up QB.
They played extremely hard in that game.

Regardless of what happened in games after, they quit in Chicago.
