I would love for the Cowboys to open rushing for 200+ yards just to shut everyone up already.

I would love if Dallas did rush for 200 as well that would be great but how about the following week and the week after? How bout vs Seattle? I'm not down on any of the RB right now but 1 game is a start the key is brining it week in and week out.

The only that hasn't been done about the RB's in a thread is a poll.
But what would be the choices.
A. Better
B. Not better
C. Not sure
D. Don't care
E. I just complain about this team no matter what

How many will truthfully answer E.....lol....

I'm sure these questions about RB are literally driving Garrett insane.

Oh no doubt. Normally I would say JG is just being evasive (which he is) and that I'd perfer him to say something like" Randle is gonna start and we'll work the others in, all will play". Shows confidence which really is what most fans are looking for right now. But, the Giants also have no real idea what they are facing so that's actually the most important thing right now.

Yes, and we're obviously set there. Romo is a SB quality QB and then some. But I am seriously starting to worry about this running game and our identity. It seems we have replaced the speed of Murray with McFadden and the power of Murray with Michael. The problem is, Murray had speed and power in the same package, not two different packages. Given that there is only one ball to carry, that's kind of important.

Murray had speed when he got drafted. Last year he wasn't as fast as Randle.

People ignore the Bailey Portis trade. Broncos traded Portis and then inserted Reuben Droughns who proceeded to run the ball extremely well.

I don't even think it will take that long.

IMO it's as simple as if there is a hole to run through they will run through it. IF there is nothing there then then they will get nothing.

All of the same things applied to Murray.

The difference with our current backs and Murray is that Murray looked to finish runs with a striking blow and the guys we have now want to take it to the house.

No. The difference is Murray was a complete back. We haven't had the great runner, pass catcher, blocker combo since 22 ... Or maybe half a season of Barber

What do you mean? Run block and catch?

Mcfadden does all 3.

RBs that can do all 3 are a dime a dozen as well.

MB3 could do all 3.

We just don't have a guy that has proven he can carry it 400 times a season and I hope we never try to prove that again.

The last month of the season Murray was wore down and you could tell.

Is there a reason why people shouldn't forget it? Even if Droughns played well, he wasn't on Portis level.

Broaddus made a comment in this weeks Star Magazine. That the Broncos proved in the early 2000's, that the offensive front proved to be more important than the RB, if the RB fit your system.
I think that is our situation here. Though it's been debated, and over debated, and debated again, and again. But still I think that is what we have here. The coaches will use them the right way. May take a few games to get it really going, but it will happen.

The Broncos also had guys who were featured backs and could handle the entire load. Do we have that here? I say not at all. Murray was that guy.

Fact is, we could play guessing games 'til the cows come home and nobody knows for sure how effective this RB committee we have will be. It'll all become much clearer once this committee hits the field. Let's just hope, trust and pray those running the show find a way to make this RBBC system work well enough to produce wins. Then, we can finally all relax and look forward to more success without so much theoretical, guessing-game commentary. At some point, it simply becomes an exercise in futility.

i think the questions related to our QBBC are by far more concerning. for awhile i felt concerns whether it will be Brandon Weeden or Tony Romo or Kellen Moore who will start? The race appeared tight. I was having issues seeing a distinct leader of the pack. Now Im a bit more confident.

Unnamed source tells me...

McFadden is the starter.
Others rbs will be sprinkled in.

No problem.

Everybody just do their job.

Okay, so I'd like to start a thread asking the board's wisdom as to the best NFL RB-by-committee they remember that wasn't Csonka/Kiick/Morris (... and even then, FBs were common, so that one's not really comparable to the 4-some experiment we're about to follow). Of course, still being a newbie, I can't. So failing that, I've dug up this thread from yesterday to pose that question...
