Garrett: Doesn't matter who starts at RB

The Broncos also had guys who were featured backs and could handle the entire load. Do we have that here? I say not at all. Murray was that guy.

That's a little bit of a stretch don't you think? I liked Murray when we drafted him but let's call a spade a spade. He only played 1 full season which was last year. Also he got injured (hand I think?) and played through it because of the rushing title/contract year.

Doesn't matter who starts at RB-It doesn't matter because the Cowboys are going to kick the little giants candy butts!!!!

Don't take my question as a statement... it's a genuine curiosity question... best RB-by-committee in NFL history, aside from Csonka/Kiick/Morris was... ?

Just one less thing the Vagiants can gameplan for. I'm waiting for someone to post a picture of The Rock. "Who's starting at running back? It dosen't matter who's starting at running back!!!"

Hey, if you are going back that far, put on the NFL channel and watch the Super Bowl in Jan of 1972 when Dallas beat Miami 24 to 3. Dallas had three RB's Duane Thomas, Calvin Hill, and Walt Garrison.

Duane Thomas was the definitive bellcow of that pack, tho I see why you'd consider that a RB-by-committee set-up. I think Dan Reeves was still on the roster, too, wasn't he?

Yes he was, and Duane was the #1 back, he got 90 some yards in Dallas's 1st Super Bowl Victory !

Cowboys 1977:
Tony Dorsett, Robert Newhouse, Preston Pearson.

Stats prorated for a 16 game season (they only played 14 then):

Dorsett: 238 carries, 1151 yards, 14 TDs, 33 receptions, 312 R yards, 1 R TD
Newhouse: 206 carries, 824 yards, 3 TDs, 18 receptions, 121 R yards, 1 R TD
Pearson: 102 carries, 390 yards, 1 TDs, 53 receptions, 623 R yards, 5 R TD

Total: 546 carries, 2356 yards, 18 TDs, 104 receptions, 956 R yards, 7 R TDs

@jonmachota: Jason Garrett on who starts at running back: "It doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is everybody getting ready to play."

But then....

@jonmachota: Joseph Randle working with the first-team offense

I still think this is bunk.

They can be ready all they want but 3 3s don't equal a 9.

DMurray ended up with 5700 yds and 29 TDs for Dallas. That is a hella year.
