Hannah could have received the $5.7 million had he blocked four punts in the season finale at Philadelphia, but he was not active. By not reaching the incentive, that money rolls into the '09 cap.

Now that's coaching...thanks Wade! :lmao2:

If Garrett leaves, I think this gives Jerry the greenlight to go after Shanahan THIS season.

Why? Well, now that the coaching staff has been modified, Jerry can throw out his "the coaching staff is in place" comment.

This gives JJ an out to not be a hypocrite and still get rid of Wade somehow. An offer to be demoted to DC will be on the table for Wade. This allows Shanahan to come in and install his offense without ruffling too many feathers.

Good call and spot on.

Jerry has to have an "out" since he was saying before the freaking game was played in Philly that Wade was his guy.

Jerry just cant wake up tommorow and say "F-this" and fire Wade, not after yelling from the rooftops that Wade was coming back in 09.

Jerry has to have a way of "saving face" on this and not looking like a total lier, thus that is where Garrett leaving comes in.

Like you said, if Garrett leaves then the coaching staff was changed on its own so there is no "continuity" to maintain. Jerry can then go get Shanny and at the same time he wont look like a hypocrite.

Perfect scenario!!!!

The only way we get Shanny next year is if Garrett gets a HC job. Here's to hoping for a good interview!

Agreed.

If Garrett stays in Dallas, so does Cupcake.

So we wait until 2010, not like Cupcake and Tecmo are actually going to win anything with a do-over in 09.

Please..........

There were a ton of dumb posts wanting Payton gone too.

Considering that Payton likes to pass the ball as much as Tecmo does, I really dont wont either.

What exactly has Payton done besides get Brees 5000 yards???

That one season of 13-3 was NFL charity, seriously. You dont have a periniel doormat team suddenly go 13-3 and a trip to the NFC Championship game and then go back to sucking immediately after that.

Sorry, but the Saints got the "Ed Hochuli" treatment from the NFL that first year back.

And I still wouldn't want him as our head coach. Nor as our OC, considering we turned to Sparano after that.

and both had very nice first seasons as a HC. Let's not put Sparano on our list of great coaches just yet. I do recall him being widely hammered here over and over - you could do a search on the phrase "time for a real O-Line coach" and come up with about a billion posts.

Just like Payton was hammered and just like Red is getting it now.

Crazy...or keenly aware of the atmosphere in Dallas.

You mean the situation where all of our players have no heart (save Witten, who is a coward) and our coaches pull plays from old school video games?

So Witten is the Lion from Wizard of Oz and everyone else is the Tin Man?

In all seriousness, I think Wade, Jerry and Jason can, collectively, be considered the Scarecrow.

And yes, Daniel Snyder is still one of the Lollipop Kids.

Jerry is definitely the Great and Powerful Oz.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

Yea, that defense won the G-men that title last year, Elie was just asked to not lose the games.

I would have figured that Spagnuolo would have been gone after last year.

He must really like staying DC with the Giants or he interviews like #$%^.

50/50 either way probably.

I'd be THRILLED if Garrett gets the Denver job. Just something to get him the heck out of Dallas. I'm hoping this all happens pretty soon too. I'd like to see Dallas moving forward in looking for a new OC quickly.

Even if Garrett leaves I still don't see Jerry going back and then trying to demote, and if that didn't work fire, Wade in order to get Mike. I'd be pleasantly surprised, and shocked, if that were to happen.
