Garrett is 2-5 is our last 7 games

We can have a coach who has the complete opposite demeanor as Jason on the Sidelines.

This coach, rants, raves, argues with the officials, gets penalties against his team, runs around, throws things, gets red faced, loses hair, throws spittle...

Decided to let someone else do the OC position that he had in the past so he can concentrate more on Special Teams (only for STs to still stink).

And this coach still loses some big games and wins some...and although he has helped improve the team over the years he has not been one that some think will seriously get the team to a championship.

BUT...He sure is firey and does not sit there with a deer in the head lights crazy mannequin look while clapping.

That's my pet theory too.

After going through Gailey, Campo, Parcels and Phillips, I really felt like Jerry wanted to make a longterm hire which is why he groomed Jason. Despite his coaching ineptitude, Garrett does carry himself with a quiet (albeit empty) confidence and dignity that was similar to Landry.

I read your post and it got me thinking.....hmmmm, I think I will come up with a list of everything that Garrett and Landry have in common. I have posted my results below:

He isn’t going anywhere, but I suppose now that he is down to “only” two years left on his deal (after this season) it is at least in the cards that he can get fired. There were people who legitimately thought that Jerry would can him with 3 and 4 years left which was laughable.

Sounds like he's regressing to the mean. Garrett coached teams were only winning 50% of games on average before Dak and Zeke came in. Wade Phillips had a much higher winning percentage and that was with an entire team quitting on him.

The Cowboys have scored 30 and 31 points the last two weeks, w/o scoring on defense & w/o getting a turnover (fumble or INT); it's been all offense.

30+pts should be enough to win a game.
26 times the team that has scored 30+pt has won their game.

In 2016, Dallas was 6-0 when scoring 30+pts.
In 2017, Dallas is 0-2 when scoring 30+pts

The offense may have it's problems, but they are doing enough that this team could/should be 4-1, not 2-3.

The defense is the problem. At times the defense shines, but more often it gets kicked in the mouth. And it can't be that Sean Lee was out; if 1 guy makes THAT much of a difference, something's wrong.

Think about our success, and it typically comes from a "flash" that is unsustainable, and then we regress back to the mean with Garrett.

07 -- Garrett and Romo's first full year, no one had any tape. 13-3.
08 -- Can't overcome injuries, back to the mean 8-8
09 -- Offense struggled until Miles Austin broke out 11-5
10 -- Can't overcome injuries, 6-10
11-13 -- Same ol crap, plus no defense back to the mean 8-8
14 -- Romo had a running game for the first time in his career 12-4
15 -- Can't overcome injuries, 4-12
16 -- Dak and Zeke rookie year, no film on offense, just like 07, 13-3

He's had THREE defensive coordinators. Defense sucked under all of them. Maybe Garrett's the issue????????

Seriously, name me another head coach that has been allowed to change coordinators FOUR times without any playoff success to show for it?
