That's my pet theory too.

After going through Gailey, Campo, Parcels and Phillips, I really felt like Jerry wanted to make a longterm hire which is why he groomed Jason. Despite his coaching ineptitude, Garrett does carry himself with a quiet (albeit empty) confidence and dignity that was similar to Landry.
Don't ever compare Garrett to Landry again please.

We can have a coach who has the complete opposite demeanor as Jason on the Sidelines.

This coach, rants, raves, argues with the officials, gets penalties against his team, runs around, throws things, gets red faced, loses hair, throws spittle...

Decided to let someone else do the OC position that he had in the past so he can concentrate more on Special Teams (only for STs to still stink).

And this coach still loses some big games and wins some...and although he has helped improve the team over the years he has not been one that some think will seriously get the team to a championship.

BUT...He sure is firey and does not sit there with a deer in the head lights crazy mannequin look while clapping.
I had no idea acting the fool on the sidelines would make all the difference.

It's all there.

Everything but the coaching ability.

Landry held other coaches accountable. You may not have heard about it. But I promise you they knew that Tom was not happy with the coaches or the players and they would hear about from him. And the players and coaches feared TL - he could fire them without question.

It's a silly argument that always comes up when fans are angry. I may be wrong, but I don't recall Garrett having a say in Marinelli's hiring. And Garrett just came off a 13 win season. But he's got to be the fall guy I guess. Who cares if he claps all the time?

Wade was the D coordinator to, and that D quit on him. There's a difference.

I can see them letting Marinelli go in the off season if it doesnt improve.

So last 7 games suits your argument so you pick last 7 points? Is this how you present your case?

Can you tell me what's his record in the last 18 games? Just want to see how really bad he is

How about we keep it to current events, like say the current NFL season..........................2-3

Or how about career playoff record.....................................................................................1-2

Yea, he is a stud:rolleyes:

I really don't know what JG does, he's basically had x's and o's taken away from him, I don t know if he has a say in picking players, I know he has no say in picking a coaching staff (isn't that crazy?). So for the life of me I don't know what he brings to the table.
