You drinking? I said he was average and would never be good. Have a cup of coffee.
Reread your statement . I don’t drink. Perhaps I misunderstood.

“ In his entire time as a coach - QB, OC, and Head Coach - Garrett has been average. He is not a good coach. Sorry.“

You said Garrett has been average . Then in next sentence not a good coach . You equate average with not good ?

Is this 2008??? Has everyone forgot 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17? Seriously... he may be able to move on and become a decent OC for a few different teams, and then may be get a shot at HC again but right now he’s down he can’t do it.

He’s certainly not doing it with this team. Not unless Dak or our defense become Elite.

Garrett’s best team and shot was 2014. Romo was in his prime . We had the dominating running game and effective passing game . Needed just a better pash rush. That team was getting close. But we shook it all up.

2016 gave us a false pretense we were there again. Not as good of team. Over achieved. One of Garretts best coaching jobs and prob why he won COY.

So in summary, he just needs to change everything he does and he’ll be great?

Can’t say I disagree with that.

Cost us at least 2 playoff victories
It might end up costing us much more for another era if Dak isn’t better than Romo.

At least with Romo we had a shot. Im not sure with Dak. He needs more support than Romo.

If only we could have drafted a Wentz or Goff type behind this OL. Garrett needs a NFL caliber prolific passing QB.

That winning wave in 2016 might cost us another 10 years.

When was the last time the Cowboys had a dominant defense? Fans have been obsessing over the QB spot for years while the defense has often been bad, or serviceable at best.

The Cowboys have never won a SB without a top ten defense. Stop thinking it's all about the QB. It's not.

Until we have those assets in place it’s difficult to say. Honestly I haven’t seen one season our team was good enough to advance further.

Could we have ? Sure. But my perception we were beat my greater teams and talent.

We aren’t just a great HC away . We are more a top 5 QB and defense away. If we have those and don’t get there then I start blaming the HC,

Like I said.. who’s playing for championships without it??

There have been very many close games we were in that we could have won it regardless of talent. Even those games in the past in which we were good enough to win, but yet weren't able to. If thats the case its a coaching issue not a talent issue.

If your good enough to win close games and don't, and have to rely on late minute comebacks, which often Romo did, then it means our team isn't devoid of talent. Its devoid of good coaching.

A good coach will make the proper adjustments to plays which will either get a crucial first down or make the necessary changes in the 2nd half to take advantage of weaknesses he sees in the game. Garrett doesn't do anything like that. He's too stubborn to make the right changes. Thus we end losing close games - which were winnable.

The league is about equal with talent right now. Its not a fluke that coaching gives a significant advantage over one that has a bad coach.

Last time we had a top 5 defense was 2003, Bills first year. It carried Quincy to the playoffs.

Your right. We need a great defense or Elite QB. It’s just tougher to build that defense than draft an Elite QB. Less Elite defenses are winning Super Bowls than Elite QB’s.

We don’t know for a fact if we’re good enough unless we win it.

If you don’t have an Elite Defense or QB it’s hard to measure.

And why Ive said if we did then it’d be easier to blame coaching than lack of talent.

People talk about Eagles coaching last year but they had top 5 defense and QB. Take those away and Eagles are 7-9 team .

Here is what he needs to change:

Knock off the insane clapping. If a player makes a great play, yell congrats. Give a thumbs up. If a player screws up, for God's sake do not clap! Why would you clap?

When a player is suspending for drugs, vehicular manslaughter, DV, etc. or is late to practice or camp, DO NOT say "he's a player, we believe in him. His work ethic and love of his teammates is a testament to his character." Think it over. Follow Jimmy's way: "I will tell you something, he's got until tomorrow to explain his butt. Things happen. Stupidity happens. If he does not want to get with the system or work hard, there are a hundred otywers who want his job. I am through talking about idiots who do not, through his actions, want to be here."

Stop grinning at everything. Not everything is pretty or good.
Did jimmy and old man Landry grin on the sidelines? No, they were focused.

At pressers, tell it like it is: "Our pass rushing sucks. Our secondary is struggling. I will have the Allen HS secondary here tomorrow to show them how it is done."

When you lose, show anger: "We are going to switch some first-teamers to second. This loss is unacceptable. If you can't play for an hour, you need to be in better condition. If you can't hang with the opponent, turn in your equipment and give a younger, more talented player a chance to play."

Garrett has the smarts and skills. Talking and acting like a Pollyanna is not the way to conduct himself. IT'S THE NFL, NOT POP WARNER!!!!!
Great title, but the rest....

And most of the league is fairly equal except for teams with Elite QB and or defense.

Not sure why fans expect us to be a serious contender without those components? Who else is???

Yes, we’re good enough to beat average to less than average teams but not teams with Elite QB and or defense.
