Garrett: More Cole Beasley outside

You mean coach Richard and his **** scheme?
Richard is playing in Rod's sandbox. Rod is the DC. Richard has a new title that no one has ever heard of. We will see if we can get out of the bottom 10 in interceptions this year.

You are correct. Tavon makes way more sense than beasley on the outside, beasley is not burning anyone deep.

Beasley can go horizontal then make cuts upfield for quick hitting plays, but he doesn't have size or speed for truly deep balls.

I could also become president too. I'm thinking on the regular basis not once every 8 week scenarios.

Rod is the DC, but Richard is his heir apparent. They likely are transitioning to Richard's preferences on the back end.

Until they say that and it is fact, I'm not banking on theories on the inner workings of this organization.

Mid 80's game is different. Those 2 players were light but way faster than beasley. Duper was a track star and clayton was even faster than him. They had the ability to beat a corner deep beasley is limited in that area

They had to deal with CBs that would beat the hell out of them before they got anywheres with more contact than you can possibly imagine. You are right the 80s game was different, it was a lot harder for receivers.

Beasley could take 10% of his routes upfield every game. We'll hit a few, but by making the defense defend every direction, it will make Beasley more effective on his bread and butter horizontal routes too.

Those guys were blazers. Back then you are right corners and safeties were bigger. They were also probably a little slower as well.

I like the fact there just trying something different, may not work but hey we are changing our offense some
He’s not gonna line up outside all day and he’s not going to run Dez routes down the sideline much
But I can see it working sometimes
No reason you can’t do what he does farther down the field and running across the field lessens the height issue

Maybe not but he could easily burn a CB running slants and a few other routes. Playing outside the numbers is not limited to running deep.

But if you were a corner you would play to the inside to try and mitigate the inside routes, get hands on him and force him to the sideline knowing he can't beat you deep. I think from a defender's point of view it would be easier to lock him down on the outside where in the slot he has to be doubled.

And here we go again copying the Pats. First it was love of the 12 personnel. Now the love of short quick dudes. I actually like it, but if he isn't going to go in motion, or he just trots out there and stand there like Dez we're doomed!
