Maybe...Maybe not.

I will say this though.

If one side of the team is much better than the other side...You tend to rely on the good side most of the time. Problem is when that good side gets in trouble, and chances are it will happen a few times a year, you need that other side to be good enough bail them out. Well our good side is the offense on this team. The other side is the Defense. There have been and will be time that the offense sputters and needs the defense to bail them out of some games during the year. Prior to this year the defense has not been able to do that IMO. I don't know if it can this year but at least they have started to address it the last couple of years in the draft.

I guess one could argue that Head Coach coaches the whole team there for the buck stops with him and he should have a team that is not so good on one side and poor on the other. That is a fair criticism IMO. But you also have to look at the Owner and GM who is charge of acquiring the talent and coaches as well.

Read the article and completely agree. You just dont see people cut up coaches like they do Garrett. At least not guys that have long tenured positions in coaching.

Garrett is a liability on game day and in game day preparation. Especially when it comes to the biggest stage in the playoffs.

You want to talk about likeability and organization, yipppeeeee yeeeee!!!

When you get in the big games and the teams are all good it can comes down to coaching. Garrett HAS fallen short every time and continues to make the same blunders over and over again. Add a GREAT coach to this team and its already a powerhouse.

He lost us the last playoff game with his awful game management- TWICE he allowed Aaron Rodgers to have the ball at the end of the half when it was unnecessary- he allowed the ther teams biggest strength to go up two more times against our biggest weakness.

He didn't have the team ready to play.

And his whole tenure here has been riddled with clock management issue after clock management issue.

Do players like him? Sure- he doesn't get on them or hold people accountable except for the bottom of the ladder guys.

He doesn't call plays, and claps all game. He is the boss who everyone talks about behind their back but they are nice to him in person.

Garrett is the perfect coach for this team.

As a coach, he's just another coach. But in Dallas, where Jerry rides herd over his head coaches, Garrett is as good as we'll ever get. If not him, you'll get an endless succession of Campo, Gailey, and Wade replicas.

Garrett convinced Jerry to shed the roster of the old coots. Jerry loved to hang on to guys like Gurode, Brooking, James, Kosier, etc. Garrett wanted to go younger. He also wanted to rebuild the offensive line through the draft and get rid of the knuckleheads.

Garrett had to walk through the landmine of being Jerry's coach, and now, with McClay and Stephen firmly in place, it's paid off. Jerry has taken a big step backward from the football stuff.

Garrett also won the team over when he didn't let his personal friendship with Romo makes his decision last year. I thought Romo gave Dallas a better chance in the playoffs, but had Garrett gone to him, it would have been received poorly. I could see that. He did what he thought needed to be done.

All that said, Garrett will be carefully scrutinized this year. He and Stephen are friends, but Stephen is pretty cut-throat when it comes to business. He'd better hope Dak can handle a bigger load.

While I disagree that he is a bad coach this will continue until the Cowboys win a championship. Much like Romo is not considered elite in some people eye because he does not have a ring. Jason as HC will be viewed the same

your memes make as much sense as a majority of your posts

Beats the hell out of today's sense of 'humor.' Now go study on that or purchase a cereal box with a decoder ring inside. You might start with Lucky Stars...

It is only a couple of paragraphs. That is why I suggested it.

Close to ten than a couple...but even if it was only TWO paragraphs....post one and a link...Do not post FULL articles.

...and the total amount of points by which Dallas lost all of those games was?

For those of you who can't wait to find out, the NFL player is Eric Davis. He's entitled to his opinion. Looking at an NFL season like 'Tony Romo gets you 8 games,' 'Dak gets your 7 or 8 games' is pretty amateurish. That's not how things work.

And I know a lot of people believe a HC is going to scheme or play call you to a couple extra wins a season, but I don't think that's accurate, either (though there are some exceptions where coaches do do that now and then). The best HCs assemble and develop talent and depth. The game is about finding mismatches. Sometimes you can do that with a play call. Sometimes you do it with a play design (like the pick plays NE was doing so much of, or Dez' pass to Witten this last season). Mostly you do it by adding players and putting them in the right position to succeed. We've done a good job of that here in recent years.

I remember JJ saying (IIRC) that anyone can coach this team. I wonder if he still believes that? I honestly don't know, but wish I did.
