On talkin cowboys, Mickey was talking like we might see Hitchens and Carter as the nickel LBs. They apparently like the way Hitchens runs.

Seriously? That's interesting. That's not something I'd have suspected, but it's good to hear.

That was my understanding.

Broaddus doesn't mention it but wrote this today:

  • When you talk to the coaches and scouts about Anthony Hitchens, the one word that appears to be consistent with him is “versatility.” To a man, they speak about his ability to line up inside or out and take productive snaps. While at Iowa he played on the outside and looked completely comfortable there. After he was drafted, in his first few practices with the Cowboys he was played inside at Mike and did not look out of place with the way he moved and making adjustments. Then Justin Durantcame back from his injury and the team traded for Rolando McClain, and he was again shifted to outside. Now with injuries at the position, he is one again back inside. To his credit, he has handled all of this transition well both mentally and physically, which for most rookie players would have been much too difficult.

I don't wonder at all. If he didn't want to play, as you stated in your post, he has no problem saying "I don't want to play". He has not played football in 2 years. A person cannot get on the field and go full out and not expect his body to respond accordingly. Heck, people who've been playing on the regular have problems with muscles, tendons, etc. This is not rocket science. They better fall back before he really hurts something.

Not sure where I said he did not want to play.

It seems that he got his life and family back, plus an education. Now, it's time to use his talents to make some serious cash!

How did he get his life in order? He divorced his wife and mother of his kids months after marrying her in 2013. And I don't see anything where he finished his degree. He's a huge question mark and talent alone won't carry him.

I would think in the interest of preserving your right to be here and not on the bench---NOW would be a good time to cut it out and get back to the thread

I'm finishing listening to some more of it and Broaddus said that it was usually Durant and Carter in the nickel but that in today's practice that they put Hitchens in there. I assume that was with Carter since Mickey mentioned that earlier in the show.

Paranoia strikes deep. into your heart it will creep. it happens when you're always afraid. step out of line and the man comes to take you away. Dude!

This player is not some other mental patients that used to sign for the Cowboys. Underwood, etc.

This player actually quit football for 2 years to get his family life in order and finish school.

Man, people give the guy a break for once. Perhaps he's trying to learn football again?

I always enjoy me some Buffalo Springfield!
Kudos!
