Say what you will, but Garrett ain't lying.
lets try to remember they kept the starting DL out of the game.So basically the DL that started wouldnt been playing later in the game when the talent was probably on par with their abilities.
And Hollomon was bad.
Not firmly convinced of that at all. Marinelli came in tow with Kiffin. And I don't think even Kiffin was exclusively a Garrett recommendation.
Paving the way for Marinelli to be scapegoated. Well played.
Fundamentals should apply regardless. Gap integrity is not just about physical talent. It is mental as well. If you do not think coaching has an impact, then basically you are saying the players are dumb. Maybe he just used this game as a litmus test to see who fits as a "rushman" and find out who can run upfield the fastest like his hair was on fire, ignoring normal gap responsibilities. Garrett says different and was critical.
Yes, he was. Quite disappointing.
It's interesting. Garrett's usual press conferences are full of coach speak, yet this one was full of specifics and disappointment . I agree that he is sending a message to the team.
Perhaps this is an indication he does have more to do with it. That could be taken two ways, but I mean would he be calling out the defense so blatantly in earlier years with his back seat role?
By the way, everyone knows that real coaches go 4-0 in the preseason. Clearly, Garrett's not the guy for the job after that blowout in the first preseason game.
Where's that damn eye roll smiley when you need it?

Its kinda funny how Garrett will dog the defense but he is pretty ok with offense lol he rarely says anything as direct you know?
Nah Im sayin he always does this since he became coach. Its ok, I like Garrett but with Rob too you know he was critical but not when asked why the offense was struggling lol. its cool though hes just being blunt but hey I want him to be blunt about offense too rightThe defense sux and the offense does not sux
There's not much bad to say about the offense. Unless you want him to talk about how much he calls pass plays.
I don't think anyone was paying attention to the score at all, but rather looking at the product on the field.
The penciled in starter at the 1T was routinely getting blown off his gap.
The 3T was someone that many thought would contribute, even though he was an undrafted rookie.
The RE, who was going to be a steady contributor, didn't do squat to quell any thoughts about his level of play prior to playing Dallas.
And the LE, didn't get as much work but was the only bright spot in an abysmal showing.
The LB corps looked lost again, much like they did last year, and they had issues with shedding blocks like everyone else.
The secondary didn't force any incompletions, and these are guys that may have to start a game or two because of an injury.
The bottom line is that the depth players looked terrible, and some of those players are what Dallas is banking on to produce for them in this season. One can sit here an argue it's the preseason, but the reality is that this team looks exactly like what some of us expect them to look like with a defense full of no-names.
I thought Garrett was going to have more to do with the defense?
