Do you realize how dumb it is to complain about 1 or 2 play calls out of 70 plays?

Especially when we netted 400+ yds again and over 200 rushing for the 2nd straight week.

RW should have caught the first one, if he had, I suspect someone would still be complaining.

Well said.

Garrett still looking to get noticed again like he did in 2007. He wants to be a head coach soon. You don't really get noticed by GMs and owners in the NFL by running the ball 40 times a game. He wants to Romo to throw for a lot of TDs and yards to showcase his own play calling and inventive formations. I have to give him credit for his creative formations. I don't see other teams with similar motion/formations. Also if this offense can win and rank in top 5 in offense, Garrett will be highly sought after again. Think about all the former offensive coordinators who have become HC. They all are considered "gurus". Walsh, Holmgren, Shannahan, Gruden, Martz, Haley,Peyton (soon to be a HC). They all threw the ball. Garrett will really open eyes if our under rated WR corps can execute his offense well with no playmakers or superstars.

So true. Some people lives are so wrapped up in one big ole ball of misery. It must really sucks to have such an existence because it is far from living.

Nothing is going to change this year, we're going to pass to set up the run.

Might as well get used to it, because that is our offense.

We should be used to it. They passed more than they ran in '07 and '08. I don't think '09 will be any different, in approach or result.:(

This is a very foolish statement. So far in 3 games we are damn near 50% pass and 50% run.

I'm sorry, but I've heard this "innovative formations" babble alot lately and I just don't see it. I've Tivo'd the games and still don't see anything I've haven't seen before. He seems to have alittle bit going on with some of his draw plays, but when it comes down to passing plays......nothing. In fact, I've come accustomed to being a little surprised when I see one of our WR's actually open on a play. Just not seeing it..............

I am glad your tivo makes you such an expert. Please tell us what counts as innovation to you? Give us an example, inquiring minds are dying to know.

Does this standard hold for just the coaches, or can we apply it to the players as well?

I'm not too crazy about those two fade calls for two reasons.
1) I hate the fade route
2) I love to run the football.

I also have great faith in TC, .. he would have scored if we run him twice right there, IMO.

But Romo defended the calls in his post game PC by saying that the defense they were in sometimes dictates throwing the ball.

Hint to TR - next time look for Witten.

Anyway, I thought we dominated the 2nd half and hopefully it will be a rallying point as we prepare for Denver.

Only call I saw that I disagreed with was the 3rd and goal from the one where Romo threw to Bennett other than that Dallas had a good combination of run and pass. Dallas is not going to run it 90% of the time defense will adjust to it and the only way to keep teams off balance is by running a mixture of run and pass.

I guess the poster I was responding to is also foolish.

We got Romo hurt last night sticking with the pass. They were pounding him with the blitz all night. Very unnecessary, very "dumb." We also got Felix hurt by not mixing it up with Choice. Garrett has a tendency to only pound one back, we had 3, now were down to one and some scrub sign on's. "Dumb?" I think so.

Stats, here we go with the stats again. We had wonderful stats in 2007, that got us far.

The other obvious thing that is "dumb" right now is not realizing we are a RUN team and defending the pass happy genius.

Finally a real explanation, I had no idea the guy had an agenda. I just thought he was to smart for his own good. His play calling is brilliant but it just doesn't work with this group. We need to keep it simple.

There's no need to project here. If your life is "a big ole ball of misery" keep it to yourself. The whole point of fans meeting on a forum is to objectively discuss the team. If you are happy beating weaker teams and losing in the big games year in and year out then more power to you but I for one am passionate about my team and I see the potential for greatness. If that is misery then I guess guys like Jimmy were on the ledge after every loss.

Dallas is a team who can run but we are not giving up throwing the ball and become some 1 dimentional team you will not win. As far as getting hurt this is football players get hurt that is not the coaches fault. We are not going to run 90% or the time and it would be stupid to do that. Romo is a quality QB who is still a big part of this offense and along with the running game they have a chance to provide balance to help keep defense off balance.

Garrett is really good at causing mismatches. The thing he still needs to work on is out smarting himself sometimes.

We were facing a team that struggles against the run and in the first half, 21 oassing plays were run and 10 rushes. I'm counting the two runs by Romo as a pass play, becuase that is what it was until it broke down and he had to run.

An OC is supposed to attack the other teams weakness. Carolina is allowing over 160 YPG on the ground. The goal line plays...there's no excuses there..

The mantra from this offense all offseason and TC has been "take what the defense is giving."

I havent watched the game again, but if Carolina was bringing 8 or 9 guys up to stop the run leaving obvious mismatches, you throw the ball rather than try to run into the teeth of that, mo matter how week the teeth are.

Again I'm not saying that is definitely the case, but if it is I have much less problem with it.

The 2nd fade pass was just outsmarting himself though.

Garret blew those goal-line plays. No doubt about it. The first should have been caught by RW, but it was a needless risk. The second was a bad call and poorly executed.

To say this looks like a delusional post is a massive understatement. Read what you just typed, do you honestly BELIEVE this rubbish or are you just throwing it out there to see what kind of reponses you'll get?

What are you talking about? Romo was taking a pounding and we kept trying to pass. Luckily his injury was minor. When the defense is giving up the run you take it. When they sell out to stop it, then you go back to the pass. Why is that delusional?
