But Romo defended the calls in his post game PC by saying that the defense they were in sometimes dictates throwing the ball.

I heard Tony Romo say that and I disagree.

A good running team can run the ball whenever they want to, no matter if they are facing eight man fronts or run blitzes.

The Giants were sure as hell playing pass defense and yet it somehow didn't stop an ineffective Tony Romo from throwing the ball 29 times.

Is there not a situation that dictates running the ball?

Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice combined for 228 yards and 2 touchdowns against New York but were allotted only 27 carries.

Against Carolina, Jones and Choice combined for 176 yards and 1 touchdown on 26 carries.

Over the last two games, the backs have averaged 7.6 yards per carry.

So why on earth did Romo need more pass attempts in those games than the running backs had carries?

It's crazy to me to see that kind of production with the ground game and not give the group 30+ carries.

We all know Jason Garrett has no hesitation to go pass crazy if a defense keys on the run, why won't he do the opposite?

Please embrace the run.

Do you realize how dumb it is to complain about 1 or 2 play calls out of 70 plays?

Especially when we netted 400+ yds again and over 200 rushing for the 2nd straight week.

RW should have caught the first one, if he had, I suspect someone would still be complaining.

I have to agree with fact the offense is clicking but it was still a dumb, dumber, and dumberer call. With the running game we had going there was no reason to pass the ball. Not to mention taking the backbone out of a team. That could have shifted the mo and even cost us the game.

We should have scored more points and put them away. Instead we frittered two golden redzone opportunities with bad play calling and the omnipresent mistakes this team makes.

I don't know what's more frustrating. Dallas could run people into the ground and you'd still have these idiots complaining about the time it took to do it. "Should have put that team away at the half"

I have not seen a Dallas team run this well for three straight games ever, and that doesn't really seem to matter much to anyone. funny.

Please stop, you dont always gain a yard when you need a yard. Back in 1995 Dallas was about as good a running team as there was, with a dominant, overwhelming OL and couldnt gain a single yard not once but twice in a row against Philly.

The Giants were sure as hell playing pass defense and yet it somehow didn't stop an ineffective Tony Romo from throwing the ball 29 times.

I dont know that they were "playing pass defense", they looked like they were doing most of the same stuff they always do to me. The bigger problem was some poor throws and bad decisions, we had guys open.

Good grief. You think it might have had something to do with us giving the ball away 4 times and not getting any takeaways of our own?

Damn good run blocking. damn good play calls and execution.

Yeah, because all good running teams run more than they pass now right? Oh wait, this isnt 1975.

They are clearly running the ball more often than the past two seasons. It just never ceases to amaze me with you people. if he runs 50/50 thats not enough. Next we'll see a 60/40 game and Romo might throw 2 picks, then someone will say 60% isnt enough. Then we we have games where we fail to score 30 pts, people will say he isnt aggressive enough.

There is just no pleasing some of your boneheads.

The play call he made should have worked though Job, Roy Williams dropped the ball. He's paid 45 million dollars to make plays. He ran a good route and the ball was exactly where it needed to be, and he had a clean shot at it.

Now I have no issue with anyone saying that calling it twice in a row was stupid, because it was.

On another red zone posession though Choice got 2 carries in 3 plays. He missed an obvious hole to the right on the first carry and settled for a 3yd gain, when he might have scored easily by cutting back. On 3rd and goal from just outside the 1, he had good blocking but didnt get in.

They were obviously going for it on 4th and goal at the 1 after Choice failed to get in, but Phillips had a false start. How is that a product of bad play calling? It was more a product of a stupid crowd, getting louder with OUR guys in the redzone. And it was clearly frustrating some of the players, you could see it in their actions.

I'm firmly in the RUN THE BALL corner on this one. Fades on the goal line are for weak running teams> We are running the ball like a MOTHER, so................no reason at all to do that again at the one yard line....ever.
