Garrett: we don’t use those numbers during a game

3 points was not the option, it was the worst off all options. 3 points did zero for us, besides a better box score.

Zero points would have done nothing for them. But by all means, continue weaving your fantasy.

I just don't understand your certainty about the decision. You're acting like there was no other option which is simply wrong.

The funny thing is you pretending like your opinion is better than analytics and pretty much EVERY SINGLE other person...aside from Jason Garret.

Garret has been making these “play not to lose” decisions his entire career and it has gotten him (and us the fans) right where we are...mediocrity.

did it work? Did those 3 points win the game or contribute to a win? In the moment it was the wrong decision and in hindsight it was still the wrong decision.

It made a win more possible than no points.

Analytics are not predictive. They are simply evaluations of past events. I also couldn't care less about other people jumping on board your, "what if," express. What's actually funny is how you guys believe what you're saying so fiercely that you think those who don't toe the line are idiots.

Only a stat geek would knock a coach for taking points in that situation... or a lemming who thinks subscribing to that belief makes them, "smart," too.

He didn't earn his way in due to his academics and smarts. His daddy was there so he went as well.
Not true. His dad was at Columbia, not Princeton. Garrett started at Princeton, then went to Columbia for a year to play for his dad, then his dad got canned at Columbia and he transferred back to Princeton.

If this was week 17 and the Pats were resting their guys, Cowboys pull out the W. They're exceptional in games that don't matter. It would raise that amazing win % also.

doesn't matter i'm sure he had a connect at princeton. all 3 of his sons went there. He had deep roots in jersey. I usually root for ppl from jersey too

Mike Lombardi had an absolutely spot on article articulating the Cowboys issues today in The Athletic. Nailed it to the core.

I just subscribed to the Athletic, and you are right, Lombardi's article was outstanding.

lol - so, you have no problem knowing you are making things up out of thin air and pretending your comment has meaning?

Hate this turd nugget. Your defense is playing great you either get the TD or pin them deep. Kicking doesn't help win. We need a coach that wants to win not play for a potential tie.

His kids are anywhere because of daddy. All bums this organization has hired. Thats a fact

Again, you are just creating a version of facts out of thin air to suit what you want to believe. Jim Garrett had no connection to Princeton, and was only connected to the Ivy League briefly, and that was a year AFTER Jason has already been accepted to and attended Princeton.

I don't know why it's so important for you to fabricate this story anyway. Even if Jason were a brilliant Ivy League mind, that doesn't make him any different as a football coach than what he has demonstrated to date. Having been accepted to Princeton had nothing to do with him getting the Cowboy job, and will have nothing to do with him losing it if Jerry finally pulls the trigger on that. So, why do you care, even to the point of manufacturing a false version of facts.

No no no. You couldn't score all game you take the shot there. Defense has played well let them make a stop. You probably get the ball back closer than the 8 to drive 92 yards to win the game.
In your scenario, you meant to TIE the game. Personally I like kicking the FG there because you did have a chance at actually winning the game with a TD this way. But neither worked because neither factor in the ultimate wildcard the REFS. The refs are like the 2 green spaces on a roulette wheel.

He also said. The cowboys practiced inside on Thursday and Friday. Despite knowing the conditions would be terrible during the game.

Garret is a freaking clown.

I'm not going to question his decision to kick the FG in the red zone that's fine with me. But to practice indoors when inclimate weather was expected for the game is incomprehensible.
