Garrett: we don’t use those numbers during a game

That decision alone cost us probably a chance at a couple scores in the first half. If Dak practices Friday in the rain, he knows he has to use gloves and an int and 2 missed throws on 3rd down could have been completely different!

Agreed. The team needs to practice in the conditions from time to time. Especially if they know the upcoming game will be in poor conditions.

It’s ridiculous.

It’s amazing that little kids can practice in the rain, snow and cold. But professional athletes can’t.

pathetic.
I listened to Charlie Weiss on sirius this morning. He said the patriots don't care about weather and practice in EVERYTHING. He stated if guys thought they wouldn't be able to make it to work the next day due to bad weather, blizzard, etc. They were told to sleep in the stadium or facility.

And not getting the walk in TD when the Gunner was uncovered on a punt. We took two penalties instead.
Oh special teams coaching was awful for sure, but I am more talking about Garrett case in point here.

I used to work in a secure facility for criminals. We slept in the facility all the time when we knew it was going to snow and we had to work the next day. Because the facility doesn’t close down and people need to be there.

He also said. The cowboys practiced inside on Thursday and Friday. Despite knowing the conditions would be terrible during the game.

Garret is a freaking clown.
Were they in Frisco Thursday and Friday?

I think this whole, "should have gone for the TD," thing is a perfect example of lemmings jumping on a narrative.

It was 4th and 7. The WRs and QB had multiple issues with handling the ball. There was nearly 7 minutes left in the game and but for good field position from turnovers and a blocked punt NE hadn't done much offensively all game. They in fact got points and the ball back with an opportunity for the lead. That situation was played fine.

This is correct, we had the ball with 3 timeouts and plenty of time left on the clock to go and drive down the field and win the game. Simply put we couldn't get it done

On 105.3 the fan. Jason Garret was asked about the odds of winning a game, based on analytics, between kicking the last FG or going for it on 4th.

Garret said “we don’t use those numbers during the game”.

I am not the type of person that believes analytics are everything and they are the end all be all. I don’t think you always go with the analytics numbers, because opponent and flow of the game are just as important.

That being said, they don’t use them at all during the game? They don’t at least factor those things in when making the decisions?

That is asinine.

That is Jason Garrett.

At some point in the game they are going to have to make a play. So you expect them to go 92 yards and not have to convert a 3rd down the whole time.
So are you saying that the Head Coach knows he is going to have a 92 yard drive? That is some Monday morning QB'ing right there.

Spot on. The glove thing should have been something that was found out during the week of preparation.

Even if it's a 70 yard drive. What kind of drive did you think. You knew we weren't getting a turnover. And you knew they weren't going to go 3 and out.

Whatever. They made the right call for that point in the game. They go for it and fail you guys would whine about not getting points.

Tell yourself that to feel better. But just like Troy Aikman, I disagreed with the call at that time.

As well as not running the ball on 3rd and 1 when they got yet another phantom tripping call. Hated that one too. At that time.

He is taking heat for that call... but that was not why we lost. There are a lot more culprits to prosecute and by focusing on that call— we are actually burying the lead

The real story is why this team is flat and unprepared and starts big games so slowly?

Why are our special teams the worst in the NFL and what is his plan to fix it?

Why does this team continue to make the same mental mistakes?

Why is his record against quality competition abysmal?

What exactly is the “Garrett process” and when should the fruits of that process be evident?

I agree and on the call its 50 50 on what coaches would do and I might have kicked the Fg as well..

why

the stingy NE defense dont give up many Tds and in these conditions we havent been close to getting a Td,

we would have needed a TD or Fg late anyway if we dont get the td we are still down by a ….. TD so getting one of the scores needed now not wasting time is not bad move..if this were indoors at home etc we could afford to be more aggressive..

the issues were what happened before that on STs and the INt and bad offivating etc hard to overcome a penatly for tripping and a hard cath but dropped late int he game that created the mess.. i know you cant keep playig hese close games because it lest a bad call or to effect the outcome..

im betting 50% of coaches go for the td and 50% for the FG..its not as bad as being exaggerated here, JG is right in his response this game had unique situations and the flow by that point making the Td was so little change, you kick the fg..

it was ugly but that didnt lose us the game..

What are the odds of a reverse and an option working in the driving rain previous to the 4th and 7?...We had at least been running at them for decent yardage...The whole coaching staff just needs to go away...

Gronk said yesterday BB expects you to be on time in a blizzard at 7 in the morning and JJ asks you to practice in a bubble when it's cold.

I agree. I had other complaints during the game, but this wasn’t one of them. Nothing either team had shown during the game indicated 4th and 7 would be a good gamble.
