On BSPN its said that Red's agent is asking for a lot more money than Rex Ryan got in Buffalo, which was 5.5 million per year. Who knows how true it is, but its out there.

I've always been of the opinion that NFL head coaches are slightly underpaid. They have a tremendous influence to success, there is no salary cap on their salary, and college coaches get paid as much. That's the cost of a starting running back. Just do it.

Elway will be all over this
oh boy.....:( No way Jerry of all people lets Red walk with this team. Then again he did say 500 coaches could have won with that 92,93 team.

Still no Jimmy sighting in the ring yet either.....

Well, my next step would be to find out how much Linehan wants as HC and how much Marinelli wants as HC. Or how much some of the other coaches want such as Seattle's DC. Seattle also has a secondary coach who Sherman was talking up as someone worthy of interviews.

Many different directions the team can go. Explore all options. Garrett would have no leverage if I were the GM. I would give him a take-it or leave-it proposition. Truth be told, he Garrett wouldn't even be in my top 7 choices as a head coach.

Well, if you wanna use the "rings" argument you gotta count rings bro.

Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien, Doug Williams, . . . . . . . . . . . even E-Lie. Red has as many rings as E-Lie.
:lmao: sorry still laughing about Trent Dilfer

Garrett wasn't a playoff coach until Rod and Scott came in.

I'm torn on this. If true, Rex Ryan has appeared in 2 Conference Title games as a Head Coach. Red J just coached his 2nd playoff game ever. Advantage Rex

However, Rex is only 46-50 as a HC in the regular season, Red J is +10 at 41-31. Advantage Red J.

I guess the tiebreaker is that Red J has to deal with the lunatic family running the franchise. That's hazard pay. Advantage Red J

While he was in training, JG was underpaid as a HC.

Lol.

You know, though, if it were me, there'd be a small premium in my contract negotiation for each time Jerry publicly said I was 'in training.' I'd never mention it to him, but it'd cost him a little bit of extra money. If for no other reason than it's a reminder that I have to coach around that kind of public undermining the next five years if I sign this deal.
