Garrett's agent and Jerry far apart on money?

As Cowboy fans we would just have to shake our heads and laugh. I'm sure if Garrett leaves, so do Rod and Linehan. Whole new coaching staff. Now, I think Garrett stays, but this would be the icing on the sundae after dealing with the last 18 years.

You are going to hear that same quote about every free agent player and coach on the Cowboys.
It is all a part of the negotiations. Some will stay, some will go. But, no negotations ever start with "Management and player agree on money" initially. If they did, you need to fire the agent or the GM or both.

This is not even debatable. Go listen to his players, they respect him, JJ loves him, and most important he has proven he can take this team to the next level. I said last week and I wish i was wrong cause this loss flat out sucks but this team reminded me of the 91 team not the 92 team that many on here were trying to relate them to. This team is to close not to keep the core together. If they don't do it in the next two years it wont matter anyway cause this team will be searching for a new legit QB and we all remember how long that took after Aikman retired. Bring back Red, Rod, and Linehan. Bring back Dez, Free, and RoMac or Carter. Bring in some Suh another edge rusher, draft for the DEF, and let Murray walk.

Meh, he's not going anywhere. I don't think he wants to risk going and failing elsewhere, he finally had some success here.

My opinion is the Red held back the Cowboys for years by forcing his offensive "system" on the team. As soon as Linehan comes in, we figure out a way to win the 3 games we were losing previously under Red's offensive leadership. Now, if he went out and found Linny, then kudos for him for realizing his way wasn't working, but not sure a HC isn't just a glorified disciplinarian and motivator today. I think the OC and DC are much more important, but the HC does have the responsibility of keeping it all together.

I would think he is worth more than Rex, however as Rex hasn't done a ton in NY to prove he's anything special. Jerry's money and we need continuity, so go get your payday Red, just make sure you kiss your OC and DC's foreheads tonight when you tuck them in. They are the primary reason for the success this year with record and 1 playoff victory.

The Broncos look on the verge of a rebuild. I'm not worried about Jerry getting this done.

Garrett no going anywhere, this is his dream job, saying that his agent still has a job to do, which is get the best deal for his client.

Sounds more like JG speaking than some reporter speculating or interpreting.

Especially the way we see successful coaches being jettisoned these days ( Fox/Harbaugh) for example.

As already been establish for year, I am a Garret guy.. BUT... Jason needs to appreciate Jerry sticking with him and taking the hits and jokes from everybody when he spoke on how he viewed Garret as a work-in-progress HC and his belief in him that he would become a great Dallas Cowboys HC .....

Having said that....I don't believe any of this *****..I am a 100% sure the deal is done and the contract is there (maybe even already signed)

LOL, I would gain a whole lot more respect for Garrett if this is true. He has Jerry over a barrel, much like Romo did. What's he gonna do? Jerry knows he will not attract any other HC with pedigree, college or pro, and wind up with another Campo/Gailey/Phillips to deal with. Back to the drawing board and he ain't getting any younger. Garrett should get whatever he can from Jerry's deep pockets and remind leatherneck what he has to put up with.

I was never a Garrett guy until this year. But, maybe he has learned. I want him back. He's gotten better as a coach and this team clearly responded to/for him.

Easy fix. Tie the additional dollars into performance bonus based on record, playoff and Superbowl wins. I'm sure Jerry would happily shell out the dollars if JG brings home a Lombardi.
