Gas prices?

On my way to work tonight, I noted that gas prices have dropped under 2 bucks a gallon in the past 24 hours... the cheapest price I saw was 1.98 a gallon...

Earlier today I filled up, I was literally running on fumes... I put 21.6 gallons in (into a 20.3 gallon tank, LOL), and it cost me $44.15... and as I said I was dead on empty...

Not even two months ago, I would have paid 80 bucks for that fillup... for a guy who travels nearly 50 miles to and from work each day, this is a serious relief to my budget...

You might want to check into that. I read/heard that some places are tinkering with the meters to make it look like it's pumping out more gas then it really is so that they can charge you more.

Naw, Rack, my Cherokee's always been that way... the only possible explanation I can come up with is a) it has a bigger tank than the owner's manual says it does, or b) it's got one LOOOOOONG filler neck...

$1.98 at the Racetrac near 75 and Spring Creek in Plano yesterday.

First time a tank of gas was cheaper than my case of beer and carton of smokes since I can remember.

Filled up on Friday for 1.91 - 29.69

Saw 1.89 later that day. Hoping when I fill up later this week, it'll be closer to 1.81

Heck, we're still 2.15 up here in Green Bay.

Test out mid-grade. With my calculations you get more milage from a tank of gas with mid-grade over standard. And you can't make up the difference by adding the dollar or two at the end. Seriously, I average 40-50 more miles per tank of gas using mid-grade over standard-grade. Not too mention in the winter months you don't have to worry about adding line freezer/HEAT to your gas. And your car runs better. Though the same calculations do not work with premium-grade. Which is practically the same milage wise with regular, just cleaner for your car.

That's way cheaper than I saw out and about this weekend. The lowest I saw was $1.98

Most of the time I've seen 1.99, but there are a couple places on my side of town that are always cheaper than the norm.

Saw one $1.59 today. Most are $1.61 with a few $1.63 and $1.65.

QT seems to have had a mixup though. They were $1.61 this morning before everyone else went that low, and now all the QTs are $1.69. I think they were supposed to go down to $1.59 but there was a mixup somewhere.
