A low 4.5 would put him in the 90th-95th percentile among tight ends, so consider the "elite speed" box checked.

For comparison, Derrick Henry ran a 4.52 at 247, and he is obviously hazardous to the health of every guy in the back seven. Pitts measured out pretty similarly.
Built differently - higher center of gravity. Playing rugby I hated tackling guys shorter than me (6’2”). Much preferred the taller guys as they were easier to bring down.

Maybe we can hope that Waddle, Smith and Chase all run crazy fast 40 times and Philly decides that they need a WR a lot more than they need a TE (they do).

Perhaps they take Chase and every other team drafting 1-9 just get stupid and nobody takes Pitts?

Otherwise, He’ll never make it to 10.

If Chase is there at 10 do we grab him or let him slip by??
I wouldn’t take a WR unless it was Waddle because he provides something that the rest of the Dallas WR group doesn’t have: blazing deep speed. He would add an element that the team doesn’t have and it would open things up.

Chase and Smith, though they are good, don’t really give anything that Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb don’t. Waddle does.

JMO. I’d say the odds of taking a WR at 10 are very low.

Fix the OL and DL. In the Superbowl, I watched a team with a pretty good TE and the fastest WR and one of the best QB's take a beating because their OL sucked.
True.
It was the offensive line depth that sucked though, not the starters.

The real TE freak who did not pan out in the NFL: The University of Maryland standout made his presence known at the Combine as he entered into the 2006 NFL draft. In addition to running a 4.38 in the 40-yard dash, Davis rocketed to a 42-inch vertical jump and slammed the 225-pound bench press 33 times.

Yes sir, there's your blue chipper, he wont get past Philly at 6 if that far.
Watch Miami take him at 3.
I think he's anywhere from 6 to I guess 10....A lot of teams in the top 10 need offensive lines and QB's and receivers. Its crazy because Dolphins have Gesicki so you just have to wonder if they'd pull the trigger to go two tight end sets or ship Gesicki out.

If hes there and you pass on him(not including a huge trade offer) you're making a huge mistake.

You dont pass on generational talent because you want to pick up a decent player elsewhere.

Pitts is what the TE position is about these days and has the tools to be a kelce type

I think Dallas is good w/ Schultz & Jarwin and hoping they can find a 3rd TE in the draft w/ Bell gone.
Sure, Dallas isn't going to trade up for him. But if by some miracle he fell to 10? You have to take him. Same with Sewell.

It happens every dang year.

The player I target suddenly shoots up the draft board and the league suddenly agrees with me.
Position value may still work in your favor. Teams may pass going for the OT's and WR's

Its a gleem of hope
