I'd like to see the names. If its easier to just type the 8 you wanted to exclude than the 24 who are better, that's fine too.

And while I agree it won't change anything neither does griping about Jones but it hasn't stopped people from doing so. That's not the point. The point is that 24 better GM's is an exaggeration that people want to see you attempt to defend. They want the list of names so that a bit of research can to be done to discover whether or not their track record can indeed be shown superior to Jones.

People who only want to criticize without providing the superior alternative aren't worth listening to.

I believe YOU started this thread. Funny how people claim it's been hijacked when it's been totally about GM's and Jerry, just like it was intended to be.

And if you look, I rarely, if ever start threads. So if I really had some kind of trolling agenda, then I would be all over starting threads. In most cases I've only corrected people's revisionist history in threads that are already in place talking about the past. Sorry if that gets certain people's panties in a wad.

You don't have to listen then, now do you?

I know that Jones has only been as good as the guys who he has in place that were actually making the majority of the decisions, at least in regards to the draft. No coincidence that we had much success when Jimmy was here working with that quality scouting dept. in the early 90's. It's what built the team into three time SB champs.

Jerry taking the reigns with Lacewell as his main point man was a total disaster. We rebounded quite nicely once BP came on the scene and Ireland being groomed under him didn't hurt either.

Now we get to see if Jerry has really learned anything, or if we still have quality talent left in the scouting dept at the Ranch that he'll listen to now that both BP and Ireland are gone.

Instead of having a guy who gave himself a title simply because he owns the team who can't evaluate talent on his own, it'd be nice someone running the show who actually knows talent and has evaluated talent on their own.
