Pretty much everyone thought Warner was washed up. Frankly jerruh thinking otherwise does not impress me. With his track record of picking QBs if he did like Warner I imagine everyone else at VR thinking that Warner is the LAST guy we want.

Then don't ask him. I really don't care. I'll stand by the truth as I always have.

Apparently you do not get where I am coming from.

There are dozens and dozens of reports now about how Adrian Peterson is certain to be on our radar, from national media, from multiple sources, for example. That is independently verifiable. There is at least "established rumor".

If Jerry Jones wanted Warner, why would that not make the national radar?

That would have been huge news.

All I asked for was independent validation for your claim about Warner.

You can't provide that and that is fine, I guess.

By the way, did you know Warner was a Staubach fan?

So were a lot of kids growing up in the 70s. It would not surprise me. Similar in their lifestyles, both are good men.[/quote]

I do get it, I have always got it, and I flat out do not care. I've been sharing this info since before you and the others split from tc.net and this site launched. The story has never changed. Others can verify it. If you need something else then so what?

Cool. I know you think it makes you look tough to not believe anyone but at times it really just makes you look stupid. That's your choice.

That would have been huge news.
Really? It was huge news when he signed in New York instead huh? Think back. At the time people wondered if he would ever ever play again because of his thumb injury.

All I asked for was independent validation for your claim about Warner.
I know, because you never noticed to ask for it before even though I've been saying it for 11 years now and we've known each other for about 13 years. I get it. I don't care.

You can't provide that and that is fine, I guess.
It will have to be, because the media never really knew much about it. But people close to the Warner's did and let me know about it. I gave you the person to contact to ask. You either care about finding out, or you don't. I don't care what you do either way. Not even a little bit. I'll smile on Judgment day when you find out the truth.

Torgogog: Who was your favorite player growing up?

Kurt Warner: I was a Cowboys fan growing up, so I was a Roger Staubach fan.

It is so impossible to believe that a Free Agent who grew up a Cowboys fan would want to come here I know. Jerry has his faults. One thing he does is give his Head Coach whatever he wants, and Bill wanted his FOBs. You can deny that all you want, but the sheer number of Bill's guys that arrived here bear out the logic of the story.

Ultimately 11 years later i doesn't matter because he went to New York and lost the job to Eli Manning and moved on to Arizona. By all means go ahead and believe whatever you want.

You obviously don't understand how things work in Dallas. BP wanted Merriman or Marcus Spears in 2005 and was overruled by Jones and Company who wanted Ware. Jerry wanted Henson so we got Henson. Jerry wanted TO so we got TO. So Jerry wanted Warner instead of Vinny so of course we got Warner..........er, I mean Vinny.......never mind......

Scott Yuile, Wales, United Kingdom: As you and others have heard, Kurt Warner says he wants to leave the Giants because he said he wants to be a starter. I know that you will probably come up with a list of cons against the Cowboys signing him, but don't you have any pros as well? He is only 33 (Vinny is 41), and he has two more MVP's than Vinny. I think he is worthy of at least consideration! Right?

Mickey:For the right price Warner might be worthy of consideration. But the guy wants to start, and I thought everyone wanted Drew Henson to immediately be promoted to starting quarterback next year. Warner will cost more than he's worth to be a serviceable backup or rent-a-quarterback until Henson is ready. Did you see how many times Warner has been sacked in nine games? Try 39. How many times he fumbled? Try 12 - losing four. I mean, why do you think Tom Coughlin demoted Warner and decided to go with the unprepared Eli Manning? Did you hear his quote on why he made the quarterback change? Let me help you out: "We're all trying to win. That's something that never was compromised. We continue to try to win and we had had some games as of late that weren't what I thought we needed in order to do that." You get his drift?

And from CZ in April, 2004. It sure doesn't seem like Jerry's mouthpiece gave the slightest hint at any interest. Matter of fact, it sounds like a pretty resounding denial.
Sounds like Henson was Jerry's guy which I think we all knew.

http://cowboyszone.com/threads/micks-mail-4-23.125/

Ollie Calvert, Sherwood, Ark.: I just read where the Cowboys have interest in talking to Kurt Warner's agent. Would they actually consider adding a high-priced veteran quarterback like Warner? I could see them picking up someone less costly like a Vinny Testaverde, but Warner would be expensive and may not be capable of returning to his MVP level. What do you think?

Mickey: I think you have properly thought out this scenario. No, the Cowboys will not be interested in adding a high-priced veteran to be a backup. In fact, it's not really known if Warner will even want to be a backup or work for backup pay should the Rams really release him. Now if he's willing, then you might take a chance. But at least Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells knows all he needs to know about Testaverde if they should decide to go the veteran route, and from what I think we can tell, at least Vinny is healthy. The jury still is out on Warner's thumb. Make sure when you read "the Cowboys have interest," it's coming from the Cowboys. If not, then that's normally media speculation or agent-talk since they want to throw out as much interest as possible in their guy to up the ante. Be a discriminately reader.

You are correct, many did think he was washed up because of his thumb.

Turns out they were wrong. Oh well, it would have been nice. I'm happy with Romo. I couldn't stand Vinny. Mostly because that Cult of Vinny cabal of idiots who showed up here. I still laugh thinking about The Major and him gushing over Vinny because he had won 2 player of the week honors in his career.

Nailed it. He is an empty void as a General Manager. He provides nothing in the way of knowledge and insight. He doesn't have a vision for the team or what his kind of players look like. He's simply the wallet that bought the position.

I've never agreed with those that say the team can't win with him, but they certainly have to overcome him if they do.
It's a laughable claim that someone who has spent the better part of three decades living day in and day out in the NFL, rubbing elbows with some of the best in the business, offers no knowledge or insight. He's spent more days and hours thinking about the NFL than most people on his forum have been alive. He'd have to be catatonic not to soak in more information than any of us could even claim to have been exposed to.

However, in Jerry's time the NFL, he's seen a lot of different schemes succeed and fail. That goes the same for drafting philosophies. There are simply too many ways to skin the cat. And those same schools of thought that can win can lose just as easily. He doesn't need to be an ideologue that steers the ship. The NFL is about consistent execution, from the front office, to the high-profile QB, to the assistant O-line coach, down to the gunner on special teams. As GM, he simply needs to have the insight to place the right people in the right places. And, for what it's worth, that seems to be what he's done -- for now.

This is not Jerry Jones. This isn't the coaches. This is the scouts. They've done a decent job. Just hasn't translated. Not to mention pro bowl voting and how being a cowboy alone gets you votes.

Bad offensive coordinators have prevented us from being a playoff team much of this decade.

Better OC, and those 8-8 seasons wouldve been 10-6 seasons. Too bad we only got 1 playoff app. out of a great 2011 draft class.

tony romo going brain dead also has cost us playoff app. .

til the day I die, ill always know the 2011 squad should've won 11 games! I dont say that as a fan of the team. I say that as a sports genius.
