Genuine outrage

The One thing that I am very sure of after reading your post is that you know nothing about football and just a lot of talk just like the paper boys,
Costa has played well and has looked good in camp...

It always takes Jerry 2 years to address major problems. Costa is horrid. Hopefully the team sees this instantly.

How long do you think it should take to allow a player to develop?

I'll wait for the pre-season to start before I judge any of these guys including Costa.

It's a new year and all I care about with this team is the results when the lights come on.

This.

a few notes....

1. we are rotating guys at center.
2. costa is a kid not some vet who has reached his potential.
3. we haven't had even 1 pre-season game yet.
4. relax.

That is my feeling towards the mindset that it is in any way acceptable to have Phil Costa snapping the ball to Tony Romo. Costa is to the center position what Tyler Perry is to comedy, a waste of space who is atrocious at his chosen craft yet for some unknown reason is beloved and defended by large groups of people.

We have championship aspirations and yet our front office and coaching staff are still considering starting Costa at center? Costa has no right to even be on the team much less starting, and continuing to risk the health of a great player like Romo over this stiff is appalling amost beyond comprehension.

Whether it be Bernadeau, Arkin, ANYBODY ELSE...this staff has to find a way to find someone better. It is a necessity. No longer should Romo be forced to jump up and catch his horrible snaps, no longer should he have to scramble the moment he gets the ball because a defensive tackle tossed Costa aside like a fifth grader and no longer should our backs be forced to bounce it outside because t-rex arms couldn't hold a block for longer than half a second.

wow, thanks for posting such an original comment. we need an upgrade on center position. never freaking thought of that one. you have an astute observation.

yet you don't offer a solution, to a problem that has been stated by 100 others. where do we get centers? where do you find them? oh, I know lets call 1-800-need-ctr, they often run a two for one special

:bang2:

Gawd, curses to PFF and their utter garbage evaluations and grading for giving people who have absolutely no clue the belief that they have a clue.

This is absolutely correct.

hope so, but it doesn't change anything. The front office is a clown show and Jerrah is BOZO.....Tony is going to get HURT this year and won't even sniff the 8th game, let alone the 16th. JJ sucks balls and is clueless....same old, same old.

hmmm, uneder wade, it was a joke. we drafted olympic athletes and tried to make them into Football players. over the past couple of years, it seems like we actually have a plan and drafted much better.

also, going into this off season, we needed to fill in CB, Saftey, Guards (2), Center, DE, DT, MLB, OLB, FB and WR depth.

you can't possibly address all of the positions in one off season, specially when we also got fined 10 million of salary cap.

what we did do is address CB, Saftey, upgraded at guard, MLB, DE, OLB and FB. we signed some FAs and had a draft to address some of the needs.

and we have a bunch of young players for 3rd WR spot. I also don't want to hear about Robinson, given the contract he got, he was out of range.

there is more work to be done. for sure. but every year we go into this thing, with bunch of needs and everyone expects to have it all soleved in one year. it just doesn't work that way.

With all due respect, the guy has had his chance and what did he do with it? He showed us that he is a horrible, terrible, awful and train wreck of a center.

Yeah, he went undrafted and, yes, he does practice hard and gives everything he has. Unfortunately for him, everything he has is simply not good enough, by a wide margin. There is a reason he went undrafted, he simply doesn't have the physical tools.

Talking about about Costa and our center situation is indeed like beating a dead horse, but until our front office and our owner realize something that is apparent and blatantly obvious, well I guess we'll have to keep beating this dead horse.

The bottomline is that we can't line Phil Costa up at center this year, at all. Not for one second of one minute of any game. I've seen all I need to from him with all of his horribleness last year. Am I a professional football scout or expert or coach? Nope, but I promise you that if the front office, Jerry Jones and our coaching staff wants to give him the benefit of the doubt because he gives it 100% and worked hard after being undrafted, then we won't win many games and Tony Romo may get killed.

no one is going to mistake Costa for an all pro. but I also think you are being a bit short sighted. the play of the guards last year was down right atricious. that had a great deal to do with OL pay in general. not just center.

Add the fact that reports have been 50/50 on him playing well in this training camp. Only in the last couple of days , have I read anything positive about him. During last week several reports stated he was having the same problems as last year. He had a couple of good days and folks assume is his good.

I could not agree more. You go out and spend all this money on guys like Romo, Witten, Dez, Austin, have a great RB in Murray. And what do you do? Let it all hang in the balance with a guy in the middle as slight and pathetic as Costa dead in the middle?

Its really scary. Between Jerry, Stephen, and Garrett that there is such a big disconnect with having a good interior line.

But honestly, the answer to the problem is staring them right in their face. Sign Holland, put him at right guard and move Beardeau over to center. When Holland is healthy, he is a beast. That would do it. We would have instant beef up the middle with those three guys.

Its sad that we have to almost hope someone else gets hurt at guard so they are almost forced to sign Holland. Kinda like what happened last year. Kinda like how Garrett stumbled into playing Murray. So far, Garrett gets about a D in talent evaluation while he has been head coach.

FYI............there were 4 or 5 great to good centers available in FA this year. There was also a few in the draft.

Sign Holland, move Beardeau to center. There is your solution.

This is stupid. Go back and watch the second have of last year. He was a pretty good center. This is a litmus test like Romo is a litmus test. People that think Costa can't play center are just pointing out that they don't know what the hell they're talking about.

:lmao:

Your post is so dumb I can't even reconcile that I'm responding to it right now. Seriously, just shut up and go talk about something about which you have an ounce of knowledge, though I can't fathom what that might be.

Ignore list ... again.

He just dropped some knowledge on you :lmao2: there with those stats.

Ignorance is bliss isnt it?

Exactly. Sign a career backup from the street during training camp, hand him the starting job. Move the other career backup who's missed all of camp and never played a snap at OC in a pro game that's counted to OC whenever he gets back up to speed, and we should be set. I don't see how that can possibly not work out great.

Also, the coach who drafted Demarco Murray, much to the chagrin of every Cowboy fan, ever, and then elevated him to the starting position in his rookie season, despite an early injury and no training camp that year gets a D in talent evaluation for the job he did with that player.

You're really killing it over there. Congratulations.
